Engineering Manager

We are looking for self-driven, motivated and result oriented professional to be part of our dynamic team as a “Engineering Manager"

Key Responsibilities                       

• Work closely with the client and the team to translate business requirements into optimal technical solutions

• Provide leadership to team members through coaching and mentorship and guide the team’s effort towards successful project delivery.

• Provide supervision and guidance to development teams to meet client’s expectations and functional requirements.

• Effectively communicate with subordinates, peers, supervisors, and clients in a way that drives deliverables forward and maintains open communication lines

• Oversee and review the performance of all team members and identify/execute the performance improvement measures.

• Define the scope, milestone, deliverable and resources requirement for the project.

• Contribute to knowledge base via best practices and conventions etc.

• Participate in resources hiring process and manage them effectively as per the project and organizational requirements.

• Assist in risk assessment and mitigation activities.

• Report periodically to supervisors and stakeholders.          

General Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. Master’s Degree preferable.

• 8+ years of experience in relevant field along with strong interest in Software Design, Process & Project Management.

• Previous project management experience will be an advantage.

• Excellent communication skill and proven ability to carry on a business conversation at all levels.

• Strong Organizational and Leadership skills, Decision Making and Problem-Solving skills.

• Experience interacting with senior management both in a technical and functional role.

• Willingness to travel outside country as per need.

• International exposure/experience will be an added advantage.

Preferred Technical Skills

• Proven work experience as an Engineering Manager or similar role in leading concurrent projects by managing a team of technical staffs.

• Prior experience as Team lead with PM roles and familiarity with software project management.

• Experience of Agile Methodology and knowledge of project management tools like JIRA, Azure Board, Trello etc. and Issue trackers like Redmine, Mantis.

• Experience and understanding of SDLC and implementation.

• Knowledge of back-end technologies and their frameworks like C#, Java, Python, .NET.

• Knowledge on database design and technologies like MySQL, MongoDB, Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL.

• Understanding of OOPS, Solid principles and other design patterns

• Understanding of Unit Testing frameworks, Version control system.

• Understanding of REST API and Web-services, SOA and Micro-services Architecture.

• Understanding of front-end technologies like Angular, React and other JavaScript entities; experience will be an advantage.

• Understanding of Web servers, Cloud services, DevOps tools; experience will be an advantage.

• Understanding of Containerization, Continuous Integration, Deployment and Automated Testing tools will be an advantage.
