Vacancy Announcement for consultant

FHI 360, an international NGO, requests applications from qualified individuals to work as a long-term consultant for environment sector in an anticipated Second Fleming Fund Country Grant for Nepal (FFCGN 2) for strengthening and sustaining surveillance systems for antimicrobial resistance (AMR), antimicrobial use (AMU), and antimicrobial consumption (AMC) in the human, animal health, environment and food safety sectors through a One Health (OH) approach. 

Key Responsibilities

The Technical Specialist (long-term consultant) for environment sector will provide technical assistance to:

• Coordinate and collaborate with stakeholders working in AMR)/AMU
• Support to conduct situation analysis and feasibility assessment to identify needs for AMR surveillance in environment sector
• Assess needs for standard microbiology laboratory in environment sector and prepare improvement plan
• Provide technical support to environmental sector on AMR tri-cycle project
• Liaise and coordinate activities with FFCGN 2 project staff and especially senior technical specialists in human health and animal health sectors, and food sector

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in microbiology specialized in environment microbiology or other relevant subject and five years of experience in relevant sector.
• Experience of working on AMR/ one health programs, conducting assessments/situation analysis 
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with local partners and Government of Nepal entities and structures
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills both in English and Nepali.
