Everest Club was established in 1993 as a non-profit organization for cultural and social service provider, especially development of health, education, sanitation, agriculture promotion, WASH promotion, natural economy, social empowerment, disaster risk reduction and climate change adptionetc in Dailekh, Kalikot, Jumla, jajarkot District as per aspiration of Bheri zone region.

From the beginning, it has been working to implement sustainable development with primary focus on the deprived and disadvantaged community by qualified, experienced professional and dedicated young hands. Now NGO is working for creation of self- reliance society through improve their (Focused community) socio-economic status. Everest club is working in the area of renewal energy promotion, WASH promotion, drinking water scheme functionality, income generation, sustainable soil management, small irrigation; Marketing, advocacy and networking, empowerment and organization development to creation of self- reliance society through improve their (Focused community) socio-economic status.

Background information/context

Everest Club together with Save the Children is implementing the CISCO funded Learning Never Stops (LNS) Project in Chamunda Brindasaini  Municipality of Dailekh districts, Karnali State of Nepal. The project is contributing directly and indirectly to the common approach on Enabling Teachers to support to children to continue their learning process during and post COVID situation strengthening the digital capacity of teachers to address the need of 21st century education through use of digital platform for teaching and learning process. Enabling teachers is one of the common approaches under education of Save the Children. The project also aims to Improved access to quality, appropriate education at home and in school, Enhanced digital and pedagogical skills of teachers and Increased engagement of parents, communities and local government in children's learning activities at school and homeIt is assumed and agreed the improve learning performance of children increase through the professional development of teachers and head teachers. Enabling Teachers seeks to develop teachers’ competencies and ensure they have the enabling environment required for their motivation and success so that children learn from a quality education. One of the key interventions of the project is to support different types of continuous teacher professional development support and enhance their skills of handling of digital learning portal, that include use of various digital devices, learning and teaching apps, Platform and using its for teaching pedagogic. 

Job Tltle:  Consultancy Require for Digital Skill Training To Teacher 

Objective of the assignment: 

The Service provider/Consultant is responsible for providing sessions to community schools teachers, local level government staff, and project staff as: 

  • Organize Five days virtual teachers’ training on digital skill linking to deliver pedagogical skills (day’s may be segregated for training, coaching, mentoring and practical session as per the need) on the below mentioned contents. There will be 110 teachers/ head teachers of working palikas form the project location. There may be additional 4-6 project staffs based in the project location. 
  • The following will be the key contents of the training:
    • Handling digital devices, learning apps and portals
    • Google tools and drive
    • Managing Virtual Classrooms
    • Online teaching learning / pedagogical process
    • Digital library
    • E-portfolio and assessment
    • Use of virtual learning platform
    • Safeguarding risks and mitigation strategies while taking online classes

Location and official travel involved

The consultant has to deliver the training through virtual mode for around 25-30 participants/per groups for total 110 participants divided in 4 groups. The training will be organized to the teachers of community schools of Chamunda Brindasaini Municipality of Dailekh districts, Karnali State of Nepal, where CISCO funded Learning Never Stops (LNS) Project has been implemented.

Services the Service provider/ Resource Person /Trainer will provide

The consultant is responsible to the following:

  • Develop a detailed work plan highlighting the key delivery dates, collect feedback and finalization.
  • Develop key contents of the training and finalize in consultation with Save the Children
  • Develop hands-out of the key interventions to share the participants
  • Finalize the list of the teacher and communicate to them in collaboration with Everest Club
  • Organize teacher training to the teachers in 4 groups finalized in support from Everest Club
  • Prepare training completion report and share to Save the Children
  • Connect teachers in the virtual learning platform

Services the Service provider/ Resource Person /Trainer will provide

Experience and skill set required

  • Two years’ experience of facilitating virtual training to teachers on digital skills.
  • Two years’ experience of designing and developing training contents and manual and facilitating the teacher training
  • Having the practical knowledge to be delivered in the virtual classrooms to the teachers of the remote
  • Demonstrating skills to maintain positive relations with the teachers
  • Having skill and knowledge on the child safeguarding risks and mitigating strategy while conducting online classes

If an individual is a full-time staff member of another organization, a no objection/consent letter signed by the organization head must be submitted along with the proposal. This is not applicable for proposals sent through a firm.
