Initiatives of Change, Nepal is looking for inspired individuals for the following program and positions.

PROGRAM SUMMARY:

The Trustbuilding Program (TBP) aims to address divisive issues at the national level on the premise that at the heart of these larger issues is a need to build trust and reconcile personal challenges before changes can occur outside of oneself. The program prioritizes the needs of communities in conflict, which are working on the transformation of their societies. We explore individual change and create safe spaces for community leaders and young people to have honest and open dialogues about uncomfortable issues that pose challenges to initiating positive change in one's life, families, and communities.

    Position: Communication Assistant -1

    Duration: One year with the possibility of extension.

    Salary: As per the organization’s rules and regulations.

    Timing: Full-time


    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

    1. The Communication Assistant works under the direct supervision of the program manager. The Communication assistant is the member of the core team overseeing operations of the Communications Unit, including the design of the communication strategy and its implementation, production of timely, quality internal and external information products, quarterly and annual project reports, presentations and updates, development of case studies, documenting changing stories and fact sheets and other programmatic communications media, web and outreach materials.

    • Develop and implement clear procedures and processes for developing reports, publications, and materials; tracking dissemination; preparing for and reporting on events; documenting project activities; storing information; and engaging with the press/media.

    • Ensure clear communications and appropriate acknowledgment in communications; maintain strong quality control for internal and external electronic communications and publications.

    • Coordinate with the program management team to ensure ongoing effective utilization of an accurate and efficient system for storing program files, reports, documents, presentations, and outreach materials;

    • Engage regional and national media by responding to press queries, scheduling interviews, preparing event briefing memos, and organizing press briefings.

    • Ensure program communications, documents and activities meet the requirements of the Branding and Marking Strategy, regarding all IofC branding/marking requirements and security considerations;

    • With the assistance of the M&E Team, develop graphics, maps, flow charts, diagrams for reports, presentations, and handouts.

    • Willing to travel to remote and rural areas.

      Qualification and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communications, media and technology or related field.

    • At least 2 years of experience managing a communication team.

    • Ability to translate technical material into information products that are accessible to a broader audience through various channels.

    • Ability to work in a team and think strategically and critically about the role of information in achieving project objectives.

    • Strong interpersonal and audience relations skills

    • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and editing skills in English and Nepali.

    • Ability to work effectively, both, independently and in a team unit, and supervise the entire unit

    • Excellent computer skills such as Microsoft Office, Premiere Pro, video editing and Photoshop and a good knowledge of social media
