Rastriya Rojgar Prawardhan Kendra (RRPK) is an NGO dedicated to developing rural communities in Education, Health & Nutrition, Child Protection, Livelihood, Human Rights, Safer Migration, gender and empowerment, good governance, Disaster Risk Reduction and WASH in Nepal since 2004. It has been implementing “Sponsorship Program”  in Sarlahi District in partnership with Save the Children

Rastriya Rojgar Prawardhan Kendra invites applications from the interested and eligible candidates (Nepali citizen only) who are reliable, accountable, and have the ability to deliver results with the highest level of integrity for the following position under both “Sponsorship program” at Godaita Municipality, Sarlahi.

1) Position:  Child Protection Officer – 1 

Project:  Sponsorship

Duty Station: Godaita,Balara (Sarlahi)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Child Protection Officer will be responsible for reporting and monitoring, responding to all concerns related to child protection and safeguarding.
  • Assist staffs involved in the project.
  • Update and review child protection and safeguarding policy.
  • Recording and acting upon concerns related to child abuse and exploitation.
  • Actively representation and participate workshops/meetings 
  • Act as designated safeguarding officer, when necessary
  • Be familiar with child protection concerns of all projects
  • Deal with partner organizations and keep the policies in check and in-line with ours.
  • Report concerns and abuse to higher authority.
  • Networking and partnership building.
  • Technical and operational support to program implementation.
  • Develop, document, and organize information and training material regarding child protection and safeguarding for effective implementation of program and provide recommendations to RRPK team and donors for the effective implementation in the field.
  • Conduct the duties assigned by the team leader 

Also, the role of Child  Protection Officer (CPO) is to carry out a range of responsibilities in the areas of program planning, implementation, monitoring/supervision and reporting of the project. S/he is also responsible to assist other thematic Project officer and the Sponsorship Program team in overall for effective program implementation. S/he is accountable to supervise and guide the Program Supervisors, Community Mobilizers in the designated field. S/he is responsible to research lesson learned, successful stories, best practices and successes of the program at field level and share within project team, donor agency and stakeholders. S/he also identifies and highlights training needs for the sub ordinates and ensures sufficient support is being provided to program staff. The position holder is responsible  for compiling data, analyzing results and writing reports. The PO is 100% accountable and responsible for field based implementation, program management and reporting

Essential Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors in Education, social work development studies or related field.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in implementing Child Protection and Safeguarding (I/NGO Sector).  
  • Good communication and staff management skills.
  • An excellent computer skill on Microsoft Office Power point, Excel, Microsoft Office Word.

Assignment: 30% Office based works including information updates, reporting and database management and 70% Field based work including assurance of program quality as per basis of set standards and field visit & supervision (may modify as upon program requirement).

  • RRPK adheres Safeguarding Policy, including its Child Safeguarding and Global Anti-Harassment Policy, with high importance and commits rigorous procedure to ensure all our personnel and programs are safe for children. All candidates will be, therefore, subject to strict background checks. We need to keep children safe so our selection process reflects our commitment to the protection of children from abuse.
