SABAL has over a decade of experience delivering emergency respond, crisis management, sanitation approaches and governance. Consultant for Business Development Training

Strengthening Municipal Wide WASH Governance for Social Change in Siraha District, NPL-1060-18

1.       Introduction

Sabal Nepal, with support from The Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Viva Con Agua (VCA) and  Welthungerhilfe (WHH) is implementing Strengthening Municipal Wide WASH Governance for Social Change in Siraha District; NPL-1060-18 project in three municipality respectively Siraha , Kalyanpur and Karjanha Municipality of Siraha District. The overall objective of the project is to improve the health and nutritional status of the Siraha District population through strengthened WASH governance and the provision of basic water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services; gender equality and empowerment of disadvantaged groups in Siraha.

Sabal Nepal had made an agreement with eight local cooperatives for the mobilization of revolving fund in mutual basis for the promotion of WASH enterprises in above mentioned municipalities. Those cooperatives had invested the fund to individual/groups with potential and viable business ideas. Such individual/groups need to be capacitating for upgrading and expanding their business, so the NPL-1060 project is planning to deliver business development training.

 

2.       Objective of the training

The overall objective of the training will be to enhance the capacity of the individual/group to expand/promote their WASH business. Other specific objectives of the training will be:

         To develop the business skills of the participants.

         To make participants familiar with the business plan and its importance.

         To make participants able to analyse the market demand, production planning, market price, and selling technique.

 

3.       Contents to be covered:

         Introduction to business/enterprise. WASH Business. Its importance and types.

         Quality of successful entrepreneurs.

         Risk Analysis (if possible, through game of Ring toss exercise)

         Identification of WASH Business Opportunities, Selection procedure.

         Market, Market survey and analysis,

         Business plan, its importance, format and developing a business plan.

         Demand and supply.

Detail content should be developed by the consultant and submit with proposal.

 

4.       No. of Event

Total 3 events (two days training in each municipality (Siraha, Kalyanpur, Karjanha) will be conducted in total with 6 days of field delivery.

The training cost of participants including accommodation, transportation, and coordination will be done by the project team of Sabal Nepal. 

 

5.       No. of participants:

About 20-25 participants will participate in each event.

Primary participants:  Potential entrepreneurs who had already processed for business loan from cooperatives and looking forward for expanding existing/new WASH business.

Few interested and potential individual/groups will be motivated to participate if required.

 

6.       Training Date and time

Field delivery will be started from 2nd week of December 2020. Further schedule will be developed consulting with selected trainer/consultant.

 

 

7.       Required Qualification

Minimum bachelor's degree in any Business development or related sectors with 3-4 years of experience in delivering community-based training focused in business start-up idea.

      Priority will be given to those having experience of conducting SIYB training.

      Knowledge of local Language/Maithili will be an advantage.

         Update CV of proposed trainer/consultant along with PAN/VAT number

         TAX/VAT clearance documents with registration certificate for any firm/companies.

Safeguarding:

We respect and follow the safeguarding policy every time. The post holder will have contact with children and/or young peoples, vulnerable communities and stakeholders either frequently or intensively in the program area because they work for country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing policy and the police checking/vetting process staff.
