Local Initiatives for Biodiversity, Research and Development (LI-BIRD) is a non-profit making, nongovernmental organization (NGO) established in October 1995 with its head office in Pokhara, Nepal. LI-BIRD is committed to capitalizing on local initiatives for sustainable management of renewable natural resources and improved livelihoods of people in Nepal and South Asia region.

DanChurchAid (DCA in Nepal) and LI-BIRD have signed a cooperation agreement for the programme “Improving Livelihoods of Poor and Marginalised Farmers through Building Capacity of local Partners in Promoting Agriculture Value Chains, Agro-ecological Faming and Green Enterprises” with effective from January 2020 for a period of one year, i.e. December 2020. It has the objective of building the resilient livelihood system. LI-BIRD’s role in this project is to provide technical assistance (TA) support to local partners to implement DCA funded projects in Doti, Achham, Kanchanpur, Bardiya and Dailekh districts. LI-BIRD is mandated to assess the knowledge/skill and capacity gap of DCA partners and then provide customized technical support services on value chain development of selected commodities, diversifying the value chains through participatory action-research, integrate climate-smart, Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) friendly, promoting green enterprises, agro-ecological farming system and sustainable agricultural technologies and practices including Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) initiatives to address site specific vulnerabilities. The programme demands that partner NGOs maintain a high degree of coherence and complementarity while designing and delivering activities on the ground.

DanChurchAid Nepal (DCA) a humanitarian organization, in cooperation with its partner LI-BIRD invites qualified suppliers of one or several of the following goods and services to respond to this advertisement. Suppliers who have responded to this advertisement and provides the required information may be invited to participate in the Procurement Procedure for the relevant lot(s).

Goods and services needed:

  • Lot SUP 1: Seeds (Potato, Summer Vegetable Kit and Winter Vegetable Kit)
  • Lot SUP 2: Agriculture Tools (2” Delivery Plastic Pipe, Silpaulin Sheet, Plastic Drum, Farm Rake and Plastic Net)
  • Lot SUP 3: Saplings (Fruit Saplings)
  • Lot SUP 4: Printing Publication
  • Lot SER 1: Resource Person for Cooperative Training
  • Lot WOR 1: Construction of Water Reservoir Tank and Model Cattle Shed
