Position title: Admin/Finance Officer (Accountant)
Location: Chitawan District Office, Nepal
Reports to: Project Coordinator, Finance Manager

Background:
SAPPROS Nepal is going to implement the four-year Financial Autonomy and Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (FAIDA - 2) project, consortium with CBM Global, NDWA and Kheti. It aims to improve financial health of persons with disabilities – to enjoy basic financial rights; control their own finances and have access to client-centric service in Chitawan District, Bagmati Province of Nepal, by addressing systemic barriers to financial, agricultural, and livelihood support services. The core target group includes low-income persons with disabilities, focusing on smallholder farmers, women, and youth. The project combines demand and supply side interventions, such as training, advocacy, and capacity building, emphasizing knowledge transfer, digital financial services, and climate-smart agriculture to ensure sustainable and resilient livelihoods for persons with disabilities.
Job purpose:
The admin/finance officer is required to provide administrative and financial support services to the district/field level project team to achieve the project objectives in Chitawan district. This position will work under the supervision of the project coordinator and will be responsible for the effective and efficient administrative and financial management of the project. The admin/finance officer will prepare and submit periodic financial reports to the project coordinator, central Admin-finance unit, and donor agency in a timely manner.
Key responsibilities:
- Proper documentation of all financial invoices/bills and other essential documents in a timely and systematic manner.
- Timely and accurate processing and recording of payment transactions.
- Support in procurement of different goods and items required for project activities in coordination with district coordinator, program staff, procurement/logistic staff of center office to ensure proper follow of procurement procedures and provisions as per the existing guideline.
- Maintain day-to-day records of account transactions in a standard accounting package, FAMAS in consultation with central admin/finance unit.
- Ensure that the leave records, time sheet, work plan, attendance register, and personal file of each staff have been maintained and updated.
- Ensure the financial management system is in accordance with partner/donor’s and center office, guidelines, International & National Accounting Standards.
- Support in day-to-day office administration and financial operation in the District office.
- Ensure transactions are within approved budget allocation and in accordance with admin and financial rules/regulations and donor requirements.
- Prepare and submit periodic financial report in a prescribed template to SAPPROS Nepal's central office / donor agency.
- Monitor petty cash and manage all bank transactions.
- Regularly maintain records of all project staff, fixed assets inventory, travel notes, electronic items, and project related materials etc.
- Handle other administrative/financial/logistic matters in coordination with district and central team.
- Foster good management and staff relations through effective information sharing and open channels of communication.
- Support procurement and logistics management for the project operation.
- Handle other tasks as per the instructions of organization and immediate supervisor.
Administrative and financial management
- Manage project finances in close coordination with the Project Coordinator and Center Office Finance Unit.
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Assisting in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare accurate reports.
- Provide logistical support for training sessions, meetings, and other project-related events.
Qualifications and experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of experience in accounting or finance roles. Experience in managing accounts, preparing financial statements, and handling audits is usually required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Updated knowledge of key issues in rural development (gender, social inclusion, equity, empowerment, etc.)
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and FAMAS accounting software.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Safeguarding:
- Accountable for ensuring that all children and adults who come into contact with CBM’s programmes, are safeguarded to the greatest extent possible.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance to all aspects of the SAPPROS Nepal and CBMG Safeguarding and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, abuse and harassment policies and associated standards and procedures.
- Promote safeguarding among partners and ensure safeguarding is embedded in all stages of project cycle management.
