Collective Campaign for Peace (COCAP) is a national network of peace and human rights non-governmental organizations in Nepal. It started as a loose, informal forum in June 2001 and was registered with the government of Nepal as a nonprofit and non-political network in December 2002. Currently, COCAP has 43 member organizations. It has a secretariat in each of the provinces. It has a large number of volunteers who actively involve themselves in the various aspects of its works. COCAP aims to provide a common space for its members, volunteers and friends to collectively engage in the pursuit of peace, human rights and justice in Nepal. It organizes national/provincial level campaigns and programs on the issues of conflict transformation and peace building, transitional justice and social security/protection in coordination with its member organizations and other like-minded organizations.

It started as a loose, informal forum in June 2001 and was registered with the government of Nepal as a non-profit, non-political network in December 2002. It aims to provide a common space for its members, volunteers and friends to collectively engage in the pursuit for peace, human rights and justice in Nepal. 

COCAP seeks application from qualified and result oriented candidates for the following position:

1. Admin and Finance Officer

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain record of overall expenditure of the activities, check and process invoices, bills and documents received for payments and maintain financial transactions in accounting software timely.
  • Prepare report and ensure the financial transactions and payments held as per organization policy and government regulations. 
  • Monitor budgets and expenditures and contribute to budget planning and revision.
  • Process purchase of equipment and stationary items and propose maintenance and replacement when required in line with financial policy.
  • Submit financial and admin report to Program Coordinator & Admin & finance Coordinator on timely basis.
  • Calculate the taxes on applicable deducted sources, deposit all the taxes timely to concerned office and maintain E-TDS system.
  • Payroll management with proper salary tax calculation.
  • Arrange for travel, transportation, accommodations and other logistics support.
  • Handle Petty cash as per organization policy
  • Prepare monthly financial reports including reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
  • Create, update and maintain organized files and records related to such, ensuring confidentiality of record
  • Prepare bank reconciliation and outstanding advance statement.
  • Check and ensure attendance, payment and other necessary supporting documents required for settlement.
  • Perform any other duties as required.

Qualification & Required Skills

  • At least Bachelor’s degree in Management, Finance or related field. Master's degree is preferred.
  • At least three years of relevant work experience preferably within I/NGO environment.
  • Experience in USAID funded projects is preferable. 
  • Experience in donor reporting and presentation.
  • Experience in handling accounting software and office packages.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good knowledge on Nepalese tax and laws.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Nepali languages
  • Ability to work both in a team and independently 
  • Excellent time management/ multitasking skills
  • You are a citizen of Nepal.

2. Project Officer

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Plan and executive program activities in timely and accurate manner.
  • Attend donor meeting as required.
  • Report preparation as per donor requirement and management requirement on timely basis
  • Conduct events and programs related to civic space, human rights, artivism and storytelling.
  • Conduct talk programs and knowledge sharing events on civic space, HR situation & other concerned issues
  • Assist in conducting and planning the activities to the senior program coordinator
  • Assist on admin & logistic support related to the program.
  • Work with Human Right Defenders across South Asia region for protection of their human rights.
  • Perform any other duties as required by line manager.

Qualification & Required Skills

  • At least Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Media, Law, Human Rights, Political Science or other related field.
  • At least three years of relevant work experience preferably within I/NGO environment. 
  • Experience in USAID funded projects is preferred.
  • Experience in donor reporting and presentation.
  • Adequate knowledge of issue like civic space, human rights , rule of law, social justice as well as having contextual situation of Nepal & South Asia,
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Nepali languages.
  • Ability to work both in a team and independently.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent time management/ multitasking skills
  • You are a citizen of Nepal
