Handicap International Federation (HI) is an independent and impartial aid organization, created in 1982, working across 63 countries. HI works alongside the vulnerable populations, whatever the context, taking action to respond to their essential needs, improve their living conditions and promote respect for their dignity and fundamental rights.Present in Nepal since 2000, HI works through a network of local partner organizations in the area of health and physical rehabilitation, inclusive education and resilience including emergency response to improve the living conditions and involvement of the most vulnerable populations in Nepal.

Physical Rehabilitation Activity (PRA) is 5 years program funded by USAID which is aiming to integrate rehabilitation service in the Public Health System. This program started in June 2019 and is working closely with government authorities, DisabledPeople’sOrganizations (DPOs); physiotherapy unit in District hospitals; private rehabilitation services providers and rehabilitation professional associations. PRA is implementing Post COVID-19 rehabilitation activities in Nepal in close collaboration with government of Nepal.

HI Nepal invites applications for the following position:

Admin and Finance Officer – 1 position

Terms & Conditions: 1 Year Fixed Term Contract

Location: Country Office, Kathmandu, Nepal

Key Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the PRA Senior Program Officer:

  • Provide logistic, coordination and communication support. 
  • Ensure effective documentation including record of meeting minutes, project activity reports (meeting, workshop etc.) 
  • Keep records of expenses of the project, review bills and make tracking of the payments to parties ensuring all financial policies and procedures of HI are followed.
  • Ensure timely and effective procurement related to the project.
  • Support to Senior Program Officer for preparation of budget, event and periodic forecast and treasury of the project.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality of partner financial reports related to Post Covid Activities.
  • Review of the financial transactions, including all the supporting documents submitted by the partner before recording in the accounting system in account department of HI each month.
  • Review the funds request received from the partners and submits it to the Account Department of HI for funds transfers.
  • Support project in preparation of monthly, quarterly and other periodic progress and financial reports.

Qualification and Skills Required: 

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in management or related field
  • Minimum 2-3 years of working experience in development organization in Admin/Finance role
  • Sound understanding of taxation rules and government compliance 
  • Knowledge on budget management
  • Good communication and interpersonal skill
