ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND: 

PHASE Nepal is a not for profit National NGO established in 2006 by a group of development professionals dedicated to supporting poor communities in remote areas of Nepal. For the last 11 years PHASE Nepal has been implementing Health, Education and Livelihoods improvement activities in Humla, Bajura, Mugu, Gorkha, Sindhupalchok and Kavrepalanchok districts.  Currently, PHASE Nepal's projects are funded by PHASE Worldwide UK, PHASE Austria, City of Vienna-Austria, NTTI USA, Lindsay Cooper Singapore, Hrothgar Investment Limited Singapore, Global Giving USA, Global Giving UK, Innocent Foundation UK, DFID UK through PHASE Worldwide, BLF UK through PHASE Worldwide and other individuals and organizations from different countries. PHASE Nepal was heavily involved in earthquake relief projects which were funded by DiakonieKatastrophenhilfe (DKH) Germany, Caritas Germany, Caritas Austria, People in Need, UNHCR in addition to regular donors and currently some of these donors are funding various reconstruction projects. Currently PHASE has over 140 staff working for different projects. PHASE Nepal manages its activities from its own building located at Dadhikot -9, Bhaktapur, Nepal. PHASE Nepal is currently looking for following positions to work in its various projects. 

1.  Job Title: Workshop coordinator - 1

Duration: 3 months             

Duty Station: PHASE Nepal Central Office, Dadhikot -9, Bhaktapur, Nepal 

Reports to: Workshop organizing committee

Salary & Benefits: NRS. 30,000 to NRS. 40,000 per month (gross)

Responsibilities:

PHASE Nepal is organizing a Primary Health Care Workshop on 27th April 2017. The Workshop coordinator will be responsible to organize this workshop independently with support from other members of the workshop organizing committee. The coordinator will be the first point of contact for the workshop and will ensure the timely correspondences with the organizing partners, invitees and produce required documents in time. We are looking for someone who has organized such events successfully.                 

Specific responsibilities:

  • Event planning, design and production while managing all project delivery elements within time limits.
  • Calculate budgets and ensure they are adhered to.
  • Sample food and select dishes for menus.
  • Schedule speakers, vendors, donors and participants.
  • Coordinate and monitor event timelines and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Initiate, coordinate with marketing agencies to design and develop event invitation, banners/flex, also participate in all efforts to publicize event.
  • Negotiate and secure event space.
  • Send out invitations and manage participant list.
  • Coordinate event logistics, including registration and attendee tracking, presentation and materials support and pre- and post-event evaluations.
  • Keep inventory of backdrops, projectors, computers, and other display materials.
  • Propose ideas to improve provided services and event quality
  • Specify staff requirements and coordinate their activities.
  • Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems on the event day.
  • Conduct pre- and post – event evaluations and report on outcomes.

Education and experiences:

  • Master’s Degree in any field.
  • Must have experience of organizing conferences, workshops and other events.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English and Nepali with report writing skill.
  • Should be a motivator, team player with excellent leadership skills.
  • Should be good planner, have excellent delegation and time management skills.
  • Should have strong knowledge and expertise in aspects of IT and Microsoft Office packages with very good typing skills both in English and Nepali.

 Salary & Benefits: NRS. 30,000 to NRS. 40,000 per month (gross) depending upon the competency and experience. Preference will be given to those with above education and experience with proven track record of organizing events (please list events you have organized in the past and on which you were the part of organizing team). 

2.  Job Title: Workshop facilitator - 1

Duration: 3 months             

Duty Station: PHASE Nepal Central Office, Dadhikot -9, Bhaktapur, Nepal 

Reports to: Workshop coordinator

Salary & Benefits: NRS. 20,000 to NRS. 30,000 per month (gross)

 Responsibilities:

The responsibilities are similar to the Workshop Coordinator above but to the supporting level.

 Education and experiences:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any field.
  • Must have experience of supporting in organizing conferences, workshops and other events.
  • Must have good command of spoken and written English and Nepali with good typing skill.
  • Must have good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Power points.

Salary & Benefits: NRS. 20,000 to NRS. 30,000 per month (gross) depending upon the competency and experience. Preference will be given to those with above education and experience with proven track record of organizing events (please list events you have organized in the past and on which you were the part of organizing team).

3. Job Title  : Civil Overseer

Duty Station: PHASE Project Districts

Required Number: Few

Salary: NPR 30,000 – 35,000 /- per month

Qualification & Experience:Should have passed Overseer in Civil with two years' of work experience in building site supervision.

  4. Job Title: Trainee ANM

Duty Station: PHASE Project Districts

Required Number: Few

Salary: NPR. 10,000 -20,000 /- per month

Qualification and Experience: Should have ANM passed (Fresher's are highly encouraged to apply).
