WASH Project Officer (Engineer)

Organizational context (where the job is located in the Organization)
Norwegian Red Cross(NRC) is a long-standing partner to Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS) and has a regular presence in the country for over 30 years. Currently, NRC supports NRCS social inclusion, human trafficking and HIV activities in two Districts. In response to the earthquakes, NRC deployed an ERU Field Hospital to Chautara in the Sindupalchowk district and will continue to support NRCS in its integrated recovery response program over the next two years in 4 VDC of the same District. Norwegian Red Cross is working within the IFRC integration umbrella in the country and its program office is located within the premises of NRCS HQs, with national and internal staff. |
Job purpose
This position will be part of the NorCross Nepal team and are seeking an experienced and qualified technical professional to support technical planning and implementation of the Water supply, household/Schools Sanitation and Hygiene promotion activities as well as supporting other shelter and infrastructure activities within the integrated recovery program. The Technical Project Officer will coordinate with experts, consultants, NRCS (district and HQ) staff, and local communities to ensure the success of ongoing water supply, sanitation activities to transfer insights and lessons learnt into the planning and assist in the setup of the reconstruction assistance activities (rehabilitation reconstruction of water supply schemes shelter and latrine Constriction) . He/she will ensure compliance with governmental policies and recovery cluster guidance while preforming this role. This position is based in Kathmandu with frequent visit to district and working VDC Kunchowk, Nawalpur, Bandegaun and Melamchi, and will report directly to the WASH Delegate. |
