Pioneer Solutions, is a US/Europe based Software Company that specializes in providing customized risk management solutions to corporate clients worldwide, and is currently seeking energetic and ambitious people to join its team in its Kathmandu office. We currently have a few openings for the following positions:

A. System Administrator (NIGHT SHIFT - 1)

(First 4-6 months on day shift and will be transferred to night shift)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor all Windows servers and network appliances for performance issues and stability concerns.
  • Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, in-house applications etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
  • Research and recommend innovative, and automated approaches (whenever possible) for system administration tasks to leverage resources and provide economies of scale.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required data (code repository, database, and configurations) are successfully backed up to the appropriate media and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
  • Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
  • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure/add new services as necessary.
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.  Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
  • Prepare various reports on IIS uptime, database usage and disk, CPU, memory usage regularly.
  • Document issues and associated resolutions to problems.
  • Train and enforce system policies to end users.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 3+ years of experience in relevant field.
  • Knowledge on switching, routing, BGP, NAT, VMware platform, active directory, file server etc.
  • Programming knowledge on web applications including database programming.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
  • Experience with documenting procedures.
  • Bachelor's degree (preferably Masters’) in Computer Engineering or equivalent.
  • Patient and ability to handle job pressure.

B. Trainee System Administrator (NIGHT SHIFT - 1) 

(First 4-6 months on day shift and will be transferred to night shift)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor all Windows servers for performance issues and stability concerns.
  • Regular application installations, configurations, and day-to-day administration.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues as they arise.
  • Work with SQL Server and IIS on a daily basis to support customers and ensure maximum uptime.
  • Staying familiar with new versions of applications used on servers.
  • Backup and Restoration as a part of daily activity.
  • Document issues and associated resolutions to problems.
  • Prepare various reports on IIS uptime, database usage, inventory and disk, CPU, memory usage regularly.
  • Prepare release patches for company products and release them into different staging servers.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Programming knowledge on web applications including database programming.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
  • Experience with documenting procedures.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent.
  • Patient and ability to handle job pressure.

C.  Associate Business Analyst- Day/Night Shift

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the programming team in developing business software that involve complex accounting and financial logics. This would typically involve the documentation and presentation of the core end to end business process
  • Test business software, i.e., develop test cases, compare against the software outputs, document and communicate anomalies to the reporting officer
  • Assist in preparing software documentations like functional reports, system design reports, training materials, user manuals, test plans etc.
  • Provide support to software users, i.e., answer client queries relating to the use of the software and render resolutions, as required

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelors in IT/Management or equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience in related field
  • Excellent written and spoken English language skills
  • Good command over Microsoft Office Applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
  • Any prior software testing knowledge/basic programming concept would be a distinct advantage

D. Trainee Business Analyst - Day/Night Shift

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand and analyze business requirements & prepare software document
  • Test business software, i.e., develop test cases, compare against the software outputs, document and report status

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelors in IT/Management or equivalent
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
  • Good command over Microsoft Office Applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Visio
  • Any prior software testing knowledge would be an advantage
  • Should be quick learner, proactive and smart
