Our technical staff on the ground now includes physicians, nurses, surgeons, as well as specialists in water, sanitation and hygiene, mental health and psycho-social support and nutrition.

Details / requirements:

The Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, working as part of International Medical Corps’ Nepal emergency response team, provides technical support and assures quality standards. The M&E , in collaboration with program teams, actively monitors health and nutrition related statistics, tracks indicators, compiles data, and drafts reports. The M&E  develops and implements monitoring and evaluation tools as well as accountability tools. This position works closely with International Medical Corps technical staff to implement new and established techniques in addition to supporting proposal and new program development.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consolidate site statistics from health, sexual and reproductive health, nutrition, WASH and other sectors analyzing cross-cutting indicators;
  • Coordinate with technical advisors and team leader on assessments for strategic developments;
  • Support teams in communicable disease surveillance with regular reporting to National surveillance systems;
  • Disseminate qualitative and quantitative weekly results using the established dashboard system;
  • Collaborate with technical advisors in data quality maintenance, routine monitoring of programs, and accountability mechanisms;
  • Support sub-national program staff with additional training and mentoring on routine monitoring procedures and surveillance techniques;
  • Support the Team Leader on streamlining qualitative and quantitative information sharing at the national level;
  • Use HAP/SPHERE sources to ensure functional accountability measures;
  • Integrate community based complaints and feedback mechanisms;
  • Other tasks as assigned by Team Leader

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in epidemiology, public health, social sciences, health information management, biostatistics or a related discipline;
  • Competent in quantitative and qualitative approaches primarily in WASH, nutrition, and health;
  • Experience using databases and other data collection tools for information management;
  • Competent in MS Office and experience using statistical packages such as SPSS, EPI-info, or STATA;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and capacity to coordinate work across multiple sectors;
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential;
