Center for Research on Environment Health and Population Activities (CREHPA) is a private, not-for-profit consultancy and research organization based at Kathmandu, Nepal. It is registered under Society’s Act 2034, HMG as a non-governmental organization (NGO). It is also registered with the Social Welfare Council (SWC), Nepal.

CREHPA is looking for a vibrant personality who desires to work as a Research Assistants, Field Supervisors and Field Researchers. Researchers will be responsible for managing and successful implementation of research activities as assigned by CREHPA.

JOB OBJECTIVES 

Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Director/Assoc. Director and Research Officers, the Researchers will manage and implement research related activities as assigned by CREHPA. Research Assistant will be responsible for conducting qualitative research whereas Field Researchers and Field Supervisors will be responsible for conducting quantitative research on various types of reproductive, sexual health & right related issues and provide technical input and support on the dayâ€toâ€day works related to research and assessment. 

Specifically, the Researchers will perform the following functions:

  • As Research Assistants, duties and responsibilities are as follows:
  • Attend intensive orientation training provided by CREHPA.
  • Conduct data collection from the assigned communities/ districts/ stakeholders.
  • Transcription of the collected information.
  • Compilation of collected information.
  • Presentation of key findings in Debriefing session.
  • Preparation of field report.
  • As a Field Supervisor, duties and responsibilities are as follows:
  • Attend intensive orientation training provided by CREHPA
  • Pre-test of research instruments
  • Prepare household listing in each sampled clusters and use assigned sampling technique for selection of households for interviews
  • Lead the field team and supervise date collection\observe data collection work to ensure that only eligible women are interviewed
  • Data collection when needed
  • Conduct random checks/cross verification on completed questionnaires and ensure full safety of the completed questionnaires
  • Conduct editing and coding and prepare coding manual
  • Lead the Debriefing and prepare field report

As Field Researchers, duties and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Attend intensive orientation training provided by CREHPA.
  • Assist Field Supervisor in household listing and sampling. 
  • Administer the research instruments/questionnaires at sampled households.
  • Comply with ethical aspects including safety and confidentiality of the interviewees.
  • Presentation of findings on issues related to field activities in Debriefing session.
  • Work together as a team and under the guidance Field Supervisor and Research Officer.

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in Social Science, Medical Anthropology, Public Health, Health Economics, Population Studies, Statistics or Other Development Related Discipline.

Skills & Experience:

  • For Research Assistants
  • Candidates should have experience of conducting Focus Group Discussion, In-depth Interview and Key Informant Interview.
  • Previous fieldwork experience in data collection preferably in both qualitative and quantitative research and has the experience of supervising and leading the research related activities in the field.
  • Good writing and oral skills in Nepali as well as English.
  • Candidates who can speak Terai Language will be preferred.
  • Nepali Citizen

For Field Supervisors

Previous fieldwork experience in data collection preferably in both qualitative and quantitative research and has the experience of supervising and leading the research related activities in the field.

  • Ability to manage Field Researchers in the field and reassure quality data collection.
  • Good writing and oral skills in Nepali as well as English.
  • Candidates who can speak Terai Language will be preferred.
  • Nepali Citizen

  • Previous fieldwork experience in data collection preferably in both qualitative and quantitative research.
