Research Assistant (Enumerators)

Nepal Youth Foundation (NYF)-Nepal is an organization working for the rights and welfare of the underprivileged children and youth of Nepal through educational, healthcare and other humanitarian projects. NYF-Nepal, for one of its Programs Early Childhood Development (ECD), is carrying out a research study and is seeking applications for position of Research Assistant (Enumerators).

 

Purpose of the position: To collect accurate research based information from the target group in assigned areas.

 

Major duties and responsibilities:

•Travel to assigned target locations as per the work schedule.

•Identify and reach out to the survey's target group (individuals/schools/community etc.) in person whether at home, place of business, or field location. Record and maintain list of the attended target group in the required format.

•Using the questionnaire provided, conduct interviews and ask questions in accordance with instructions to obtain specified information

•Explain survey objectives and procedures to interviewees and interpret survey questions to help interviewees' comprehension.

•Identify and resolve inconsistencies in interviewees' responses by means of appropriate questioning or explanation.

•Review data obtained from interview for completeness and accuracy.

•Observe the context, situation and compare with the information received.

•Report to supervisor on daily basis to update on the work progress. Also Identify and report problems in obtaining valid data.

•Compile and record data from interview and file it in an organized manner.

•Prepare and generate reports to provide answers in response to specific problems and survey information.

 

Requirements

•Education:   At least intermediate graduate (in any discipline).

•Language:   Bilingual (Nepali and English)

•Travel: Be able to travel in defined locations of Nepal (mostly villages), using available transportation means or on foot as deemed necessary).

•Salary:Minimum 10,000 per month

•Travel Expenses:to be covered by office.

•Food & Lodge Allowance: shall be provided by office (depending upon the schedule location area)

•Training:training and orientation will be provided on the research techniques in order to ensure collection of accurate information.
