Mercy Corps Nepal works to build the absorptive, adaptive and transformative potential of vulnerable individuals and communities across Nepal. Mercy Corps began operations in Nepal in 2005, and since then has implemented projects in the sectors of economic and food security; climate, natural resource and disaster risk management; youth engagement; with the inclusion of women and disadvantaged groups as important cross-cutting themes throughout each intervention area.

Sustainable Access to Finance and Livelihoods (SAFAL) is a project funded by the UK Government with the goal to reduce poverty in remote and rural areas of Nepal, particularly hill and mountain communities through sustainable access to finance, appropriate livelihood opportunities and local institution strengthening. 

Mercy Corps invites proposals from competent NGOs to implement Financial Literacy Training for the existing and potential microfinance clients of MFIs in a) Kanchapur, Bajhang and Baitadi; and, b) Jumla, Kalikot, Rukum and Banke. The project will include planning, implementation, and monitoring of the Financial Literacy Training till June 2015 in coordination with local financial institutions and Mercy Corps. Mercy Corps has its own proven financial literacy curriculum, training materials and proven delivery modality. Mercy Corps will facilitate the ToTs to the local facilitators and provide the training materials to the selected NGOs and NGOs will implement the trainings to MFI groups. 

NGOs with proven experience in delivering Financial Literacy Training to community groups and willing to carry forward the current financial literacy initiatives are requested to submit a brief technical and financial proposal along with the following documents by 4th Novemeber, 2014 to the address given below:

1. Expression of interest (EOI) outlining how the NGO will meet the above criteria and their understanding of ToR and methodology

2. A proposed activities schedule/work plan with time frame along with financial proposal including detail breakdown of budget either for the districts mention above in group a or b or both.

3. Copy of organizational profile and CV of personnel to be involved in the task. 

4. Copies of registration certificate, renewal, SWC affiliation, VAT/PAN registration and latest audit report.
