In this regard, TPO Nepal is looking for a competent, committed and result-oriented candidate for the following position.

Position:  Psychologist

No. of vacancy:  1

Location:  Kathmandu

Duration: 6 Months (Possibility of extension) 

Starting date: At the earliest

Major responsibilities:

The Psychologist will be responsible for following duties but not limited to:

  • Identify psychosocial, emotional or behavioral issues of clients
  • Conduct clinical consultation and diagnostic assessment
  • Provide psychosocial services and psychological therapeutic interventions to the clients having mental health and psychosocial problems, by using various evidence-based modalities
  • Develop and implement treatment plan and therapeutic process.
  • Monitor client progress through regular meeting or sessions.
  • Help client’s goals and plan action to achieve personal, social, educational and vocational development and adjustment
  • Maintain an open line of communication with care providers, patients and their family members in order to efficiently address emergencies
  • Maintain working relationships/work closely with other staff of the organization.
  • Develop different psychosocial intervention manuals and guidelines
  • Provide training to counselors about different psychosocial interventions and prepare training reports
  • Prepare hard copy and electronic documentation of clinical services file
  • Prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly report of the services
  • Provide phone counseling to the patients of psychosocial and mental health problems through the helpline service

Qualification, Skills and Experience:

  • The candidate must have Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, preferablyM.Phil. in Clinical Psychology
  • At least two years experiences in psychosocial and mental health field
  • Able to work in multi-culture environment
  • Perform any other training related assignments as directed by the clinical manager and management
  • Able to prepare reports in computer.
  • Must have fluency in English, Nepali and Hindi languages, both written and spoken

Currently, the organization is implementing a project "Group Problem Management Plus (PM+)". Problem Management Plus (PM+). It is a 5-session counseling intervention for adults in distress.

TPO Nepal is seeking competent, committed and result oriented candidates for the following positions.

Position: Research Supervisor

Location: Morang District

Time: August 2018 – June 2019

Vacancy open: July 18, 2018 – July 31, 2018 

Candidates preferred from Morang, Jhapa, or Sunsari district OR familiar with Morang district.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Main supervisor on the ground for research activities such as recruitment, trainings of RAs, coordination of consent during assessments, family meetings, minimizing contamination and more.
  • Work closely with the Program Coordinator and Field Clinical Supervisors to assure that the research activities run as planned
  • Report to Project Coordinator and other PM+ staff with daily and weekly updates with on the ground research activities
  • Planning and supervision of research assistants’ daily activities
  • Close coordination with field clinical supervisors for managing flow of participants in the study
  • Oversee data collection and detailed management of data on online database and excel files
  • Coordinate research activities with GOs, NGOs, and other stakeholders in the implementation sites
  • Regular field visits with Research Assistants to make sure the quality of data collection
  • Provide regular reports to the project coordinator and overall team

 SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors pass in related field 
  • At least two years of research experience in the community setting
  • Previous experience in managing large data sets
  • Willing to work in multicultural environment
  • Willingness to travel to remote areas of Morang district
  • Attention to detail
  • Good command on both written and spoken English and Nepali languages
  • Able to mobilize in the field actively by driving scooter, motorbike, or other vehicles
  • Knowledge and previous work experience in mental health is preferred
