Women Welfare Service (WWS), Humla is non-governmental organization registered in District Administration Office in 1993. WWS has been working in various fields related to community development focusing on women and People with Disability. In partnership with Mission East, WWS is implementing project “Gender Justice for bright Future” in Humla. In this regard, WWS is seeking innovative, self motivated and dynamic personnel for the following position:

Position Title: Project Officer – 1 position.

Project/s: Gender Justice for Bright future

Location: Simikot, Humla with frequent field visits to project VDCs of Humla 

Length of Contract: 1 year, Renewable

Salary Package: As per Organization policy

Responsible to: Project Manager

Overall Responsibility: To ensure overall management of women empowerment project, reporting, coordination, organize trainings, develop training modules and field activity supervision. The position also demands to maintain coordination within consortium members and multi stakeholders including the Government and civil society 

Required Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor degree in Social Science or related field with 4 years of experience or Master’s Degree with 2 years of experience.
  • Person with academic background in gender and development and experience in women empowerment and livelihood projects will be given preference.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitation for the inclusion of marginalized women, people with disability and vulnerable women in the women empowerment programs.
  • Household visit, consultation and planning of vocational activities for the targeted women as per need.
  • Coordination with VDC level Governmental and Nongovernmental organizations for the women empowerment programs.
  • Identification, mapping and monitoring of social and other groups of working VDCs as per needs.
  • Data collection, Identification of targeted groups, conduct discussion programs on VDCs level.
  • Develop and build up sound relationship and coordination among community stakeholders, VDC/district level government agencies and the organization.
  • Organize regular meeting with the groups/communities.
  • Coordination and help literacy facilitator to conduct the literacy class.
  • Play an active role to minimize the gender based discrimination in the society.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly, semi-annual and annual report to PM/PC.
  • Collect and submit case studies and success stories with monthly report to PM/PC.
  • Submit the report of VDCs level activities to WWS as per need.
  • Coordinate with SMs of other VDCs to achieve the project goal fruitfully.
  • Assist and help the visitors for monitoring the project.
  • Coordinate the meetings and discussion with different stakeholders of VDC.
  • Formation of women groups, women networks in VDC level and mobilize them for their empowerment as per the need of the goals and objectives of the project.
  • Lobby and advocacy for the inclusion and mainstreaming of women, Dalit, women with disability and vulnerable women in the meetings, seminar and other development activities.
  • Conduct trainings, events and seminars for VDCs level women groups and networks using the guidelines and manuals developed by WWS.
  • Work as per other policies of the organization. 
  • Prepare periodic  report

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Person with good Knowledge on Village Bank and Cooperative Management.
  • Knowledge of project management and aware with the issues and problems of Nepalese women, livelihood and people with disabilities.
  • Good training, facilitation and networking skill.
  • Good oral and written communication skills and fluency in English and Nepali.
  • Proficient in computer applications, good report writing skill in English.
