Rural Reconstruction Nepal (RRN) is a Nepalese non-governmental development organization working in the areas of integrated community development, agriculture, forestry, human rights, peace building and social justice, having strategic focus on protecting and promoting economic, social and cultural rights and right to development. We also work extensively on natural resource management, disaster management and climate change adaptation and mitigation activities. Its major interventions are directed towards poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged groups of people in rural areas.

RRN is a leading Nepali non-government organizations (NGO) working in the areas of development and policy advocacy. Its major areas of interventions/ engagements include, but not limited to, rural development, human rights and social justice- having strategic focus on protecting and promoting economic, social and cultural rights and right to development and peace building from below in Nepal. Its major interventions are directed towards promoting pro-poor and pro-people policies and practices through integrated rural development, policy advocacy, campaign, lobbying, networking and research functions. RRN is looking for a competent candidate for:

Position: Project Manager

Project: Improving Livelihoods of marginalized groups in Salyan District (NPL 1034) and Fight Hunger First Initiative in Nepal, Primary Education, Health and Nutrition-I (NPL 1017)

Project duration: NPL 1034: 1st Nov, 2015 to 31st December, 2018 and NPL 1017: 1st February, 2013 to 31st December, 2016

Financing Partner: Welthungerhilfe (WHH)

Project Area: NPL 1034: Eight VDCs of Salyan (Kaprechour, Kalimatikalche, Kalimatirampur, Nigalchula, Majkada, Kubindedaha, Laxmipur and Kavra) and NPL 1017: Korak VDC (Chitwan), Gelu VDC (Ramechap) and Jante VDC (Morang)

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

  • Masters in Agriculture/Rural Development/Sociology/Development Management and other related field with at least 7 years of relevant work experience of project management preferably with NGOs, INGOs, UN agencies and/or any other similar agencies at the senior level positions. 
  • S/He will be responsible to coordinate, collaborate with district level Government and non-governmental agencies, planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the project activities implemented in the districts.
