Established in 1990, Banke UNESCO Club is a non-government organization, the establishment of the organization has been inspired by the ideals of non-violence, social justice, self-reliance, sustainable development and volunteerism. The organization is dedicated to the ideals of holistic and integrated development based on a harmonious balance of socio-culture, material, scientific environmental aspects and increase in literacy rate of Disadvantaged, Marginalized, Deprived, and other Poorest of Poorer groups (POP) including women and child by providing quality education.

Banke UNESCO Club (BUC) has signed a contract with RTI International for implementing and managing the community mobilization component of the Early Grade Reading Program (EGRP) in Banke district. The overall purpose of the community mobilization of EGRP is to increase family and community support for improvement of early grade reading for children from grades one to three. BUC will work directly with School, SMC, PTA, Tole Reading Group and all relevant community forums in close coordination with District Education Office (DEO) and Resource Centre (RC) for implementing activities related to community mobilization of EGRP in Banke district.

Banke UNESCO Club is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the following positions to implement community mobilization component of EGRP in Banke district. DESCRIPTION/PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Project Manager (PM) oversees all activities implemented under community mobilization of Early Grade Reading Program to increase family and community support for Early Grade Reading Program Banke. The PM works closely with team to ensure community mobilization of Early Grade Reading Program are effectively managed and implemented in timely manner.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent in education, development studies/social work, or related field
  • Experience in management roles of donor-funded grants and/or contracts 
  • At least 3 years’ experience in leading community mobilization and capacity building of community forums 
  • Experience in team leadership, coordination or direct management role 
  • Experience in designing and delivering community mobilization forums and activities 
  • Experience in early grade reading, primary education and ECD sector is preferred 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office. 
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills in English and Nepali
  • Oral fluency in English and Nepali language for communication and also report writing skill in English is a must.
