Project Manager, Civil Engineer, Logistic Officer, Civil SubOc and Logistic Assistant

VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

PHASE Nepal is a not for profit NGO established in 2006 by a group of development professionals dedicated to supporting poor communities in remote areas of Nepal. For the last 11 years PHASE Nepal has been implementing Health, Education and Livelihoods improvement programmes in Humla, Bajura, Mugu, Gorkha, Sindhupalchok and Kavrepalanchok districts.  Currently, PHASE Nepal's projects health, education, livelihoods and reconstruction are funded by number of institutional and individual donors from different countries. PHASE has over 140 staff working for different projects. PHASE Nepal is currently in need of the following staff member.  

School Construction Project (27 Months): 

1.    Project Manager – 1

Duty Station: PHASE Office, Bhaktapur (more than 70% field based)

Qualification and experiences : The candidate should have Master's Degree preferably specialization in building construction or construction management and a minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in managing similar projects in managerial level with demonstrable record of accomplishment of best performance. Must have excellent English and Nepali language, IT and reporting skills. Should be able to produce high quality technical as well as narrative reports of the project activities independently.

Basic Salary and Benefits: NRS 60,000 per month (basic starting salary scale) plus 10% provident fund after three months of probation period, one month’s salary as festival bonus after working for a year plus medical facility and insurance.

Responsibilities: The Project Manager will be reporting to the Programme Manager and is responsible for overall management of the project activities including planning, implementation, monitoring and coordinating with relevant stakeholders. S/he will be supervising project staff and frequently visiting the project areas. There will be transport expenses covered plus DAs during field visits.  

2.    Civil Engineer  – 1

Duty Station: PHASE Office, Bhaktapur (more than 70% field based)

Basic Salary and Benefits: NRS 50,000 per month (basic starting salary scale) plus 10% provident fund after three months of probation period, one month’s salary as festival bonus after working for a year plus medical facility and insurance.

Qualification and Experience: The candidate should have completed at least Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering with minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in designing and implementing building construction projects. Must have excellent English and Nepali language and IT skills.

Responsibilities : The Civil Engineer will report to the Project Manager and be responsible for carrying out detailed surveys, designs, cost estimates and preparing agreement with local stakeholders where necessary, providing technical input for effective implementation of construction of the school buildings with contemporary rules in relation to the design and construction school buildings and supervising the construction activities. S/he will support the project manager in planning, monitoring and reporting. 

 3.    Logistics Officer – 1

Duty Station: PHASE Office, Bhaktapur (with occasional field visit)

Basic salary and Benefits: NRS 43,299 per month (basic starting salary scale) plus 10% provident fund after three months of probation period, one month’s salary as festival bonus after working for a year plus medical facility and insurance.

Qualification and Experience: The candidate should have completed Bachelor's degree in management or equivalent with 2 years of experience in similar capacity in development sector. Should have good reporting and documentation skill. Proficient in Microsoft office packages with excellent verbal & written communication skill in English and Nepali language.

Responsibilities: This position will be responsible for planning, monitoring, and implementation of overall logistics processes including purchasing, warehousing, transportation, and customer services. Maintain complete record of movements of all stock items and ensure that balance in the books reflect the physical stock. Maintain files for monthly stock report, signed delivery order, and Goods Receive Note (GRN). 

4.    Civil Sub Overseer – 2

Duty Station: Sindhupalchok

Basic salary and Benefits: NRS 21,138 per month (basic starting salary scale) plus 10% provident fund after three months of probation period, one month’s salary as festival bonus after working for a year plus medical facility and insurance. 

Qualification & Experience: Should have passed Sub Overseer in Civil with one year of work experience in building construction projects. 

5.    Logistics Assistant – 1

Duty Station: PHASE Office, Bhaktapur (more than 70% field based)

Basic salary and Benefits: NRS 25,000 per month (basic starting salary scale) plus 10% provident fund after three months of probation period, one month’s salary as festival bonus after working for a year plus medical facility and insurance.

Experience and Qualification: Should have completed Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any stream with at least a year of working experience in similar position. Proficient in computer skill with good command of written and spoken English and Nepali language is the most. Should be flexible to accomplish multi task as directed by the organization.
