Community for Business Development and Promotion Society (COBDEPS) is, non-profit, non- political, non-governmental organization established in 2003. It is registered at the District Administration Office, Nuwakot, and affiliated to the Social Welfare Council, Nepal. The organization aims at reducing poverty of rural communities through integrated and sustainable development interventions. COBDEPS program activities are focused towards improving household incomes and contribute to sustainable rural livelihoods through utilizing the local resources. It integrates social mobilization, Entrepreneurship Development, Development and farm and non-farm based enterprise development, value chain and market development in a multi-stakeholder approach in partnership with government, non-government organizations and private sectors in district levels. During the course of its 13 years of professional COBDEPS has been working in different sector like Livelihood, marketing and infrastructure and so on. So COBDEPS is seeking for well-educated and experienced project coordinator for the livelihood program funded by World Vision International Nepal, Nuwakot.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION / REQUIREMENTS

Position: Project Coordinator

Job Location: COBDEPS Office Bidur Nuwakot

Reporting to: Sector Head/WVI Nuwakot.

No of Position: 1

Job Purpose: To coordinate for social mobilization and to ensure equity concerns in the implementation of Program activities, and uplift the livelihood programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Coordinate and support livelihood activities – Improvement Project in Nuwakot district at the community level.  
  • Support the coordination between agencies engaged in Livelihood programmes – Trail Improvement Project in activities, the Donor (Goal), the Chief District Officer (CDO), Local Development Officer (LDO), District Disaster Relief Committee (DDRC) and any other relevant local authorities, at the district level. 
  • Effectively represent Livelihood activities – ImprovementProject at district level, under the guidance and support of the sector Manager at coordination meetings, DDRC meetings and other relevant events.
  • Engage, coordinate support the CDO, DADO, DLSO, LDO, DDRC and other relevant authorities on the coordination of Agricultural activities.
  • Ensure maintaining Transparency on   Cash for work activities. Issues in this include agreeing on cash installments, payment modality, equal wages etc.
  • Manage and support District team in information management and reporting, collection and processing of data, mapping, analysis, agency reporting, and communication with support from COBDEPS Team.
  • Support dissemination of information on government policies, available assistance, eligibility criteria referral, grievance redressal and other services with regards to the project.

KEY RESULT AREAS:

  • Planning, implementing and reporting of the district level Livelihood programme with communities, workers, involved government authorities and periodic tracking of progress for reporting purpose.
  • Identifying and addressing any gaps arising in implementation and seeking solution participatory and accountably.
  • Sharing information from district to the project level such as relevant strategies, polices, standards, technical tools and guidance documents.
  • Addressing key issues or questions from communities, workers and district stakeholders to Program Manager and Central level forum as learning points
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural sciences compulsory.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience on Livelihood Programme in I\NGO.
  • Experience on Livelihood Programmes. coordination with district level stakeholders , and the management and facilitation of coordination meetings
  • Experience in organizing orientation workshops at community level and also at district level stakeholders on issues such as all agricultural related activities.
  • Reporting experiences  to meet periodic statutory reporting and learning documentation
  • Good knowledge of inter-agency and processes.
  • Experience in liaising with governmental authorities and local communities, as well as national and international institutions;
