Rural Development Tuki Association (RDTA), is a pioneering community based developmental organization established in 1991 in Dolakha. RDTA gained its legal status with registration under Government of Nepal, District Administrative Office, Dolakha in 1991. It is registered in Social Welfare Council and affiliated with NGO Federation of Nepal as well. RDTA is a union of Tukis spread throughout the Dolakha district. Tuki is a community based model leader farmer who is empowered on various social developmental phenomenons and can disseminate what s/he has learned in the community. So, Tukis are agencies for pioneering knowledge dissemination and community development.There are Tukis in almost every village of the district. RDTA aims to uplift the living standard of poor and marginalized peoples. It is determined to give momentum to sustainable community development initiative through good governance, community empowerment, sustainable resource mobilization and institutional development.

Rural Development Tuki Association (RDTA), registered in 1991 at District Administration Office Dolakha, is a nonprofit making nongovernmental organization. RDTA founded on the base of Tuki Approach- an exemplified emblem of bottom up community developmental approach in Nepal. Since its inception it has been working in an integrated model of community development having partnerships with different development agencies and partners, especially being focused in Dolakha district of Nepal.

After the devastating Earthquake and its major aftershocks of 2015, this association has been implementing several relief and recovery projects in Dolakha. Among the projects carrying out in partnerships with Save the Children International (SCI), health related Projects are lying under major projects.

This association is seeking a qualified and dynamic Nepali citizen for health projects running in Dolakha district in partnership  with Save the Children International (SCI).

POSITION: PROJECT COORDINATOR (HEALTH AND WASH)
 
No of Position: 1 (One)

Location: Dolakha with frequent field visit

Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead on Health and WASH program in coordination with SCI and District Health Office (DHO) and District Water Supply and Sanitation Office (DWSS).
  • With support from SCI thematic leads, develop project work plans and budgets.
  • Prepare and oversee project implementation to ensure timely delivery of planned activities as per Detailed Implementation Plan(DIP) in desire quality.
  • Prepare timely programme progress reports on project activities
  • Technical and managerial support to community level staffs including training and capacity building of new staffs.
  • Identify health and WASH program supplies needs and coordinate with the logistics team to put in place as per need
  • Build coordination and collaboration with district line agencies
  • Perform such other responsibilities as agreed with line management
  • Other duties as assigned by line manager


Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least Bachelor's in Public Health or equivalent (Master's degree preferably) with minimum 2 years of working experiences in development organizations in health and WASH program
  • Strong organizational and managerial skills, leadership skills and ability to impart skill others; oral and written and speaking communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in multi-cultural environment
  • Able to establish good working relationships and positively contribute to a team
  • Ability to effectively manage relationships between district level line agencies and stakeholders
  • Flexible, positive and proactive approach to work; able to work in a stressful and changing environment
  • Willingness to stay at different base and field locations depending on the needs of the programme
  • Good information seeking skills and proactive approach
  • Experience or knowledge of working and living in relevant regions/contexts
