Position Title: Project Clerk

Position Required: 1 Position

Duty Station: Kathmandu, Nepal

Classification: General Service Staff, Grade 3

Type of Appointment: Special Short Term 6 months with possibility of extension

Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible

IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.

Context: 

Under the overall guidance of the Chief of Mission (CoM) in Nepal and the direct supervision of the Program Manager, the successful candidate will be tasked to assist with the implementation of the IOM Nepal’s projects under Transition and Recovery Unit/ Program Unit. 

Core Functions / Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in implementing and facilitating internal and external trainings, meetings and events for numerous target groups, as well as workshops/seminars associated to the projects assigned.
  • Assist in the liaison and coordination with the Government of Nepal (GoN) counterparts on the national, district and local level.
  • Undertake duty travel relating to project/program activities, as required.
  • Manage the stocks and stored items of the Transition and Recovery team by carefully keeping account of all the items and routinely updating the Supervisor.
  • Preparing the Purchase requests, Payment request forms, TRIP requests, Cross-checking the invoices received etc. for submitting in proper format.
  • Keeping track of all PR’s, Program details etc. processed in systematic manner.
  • Assist responding to queries from vendors, service providers, Implementing partners and project stakeholders as required.
  • Handling incoming and outgoing correspondence related to the Transition and Recovery unit.
  • Working closely with other units to meet the deadlines on admin finance and logistics issues.
  • Perform and assist with any other activities/duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Education

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution with 1 year work experience on related field; Or
  • Completed High School Degree with 3 years’ work experience in related field.

Experience 

  • Delivers on set objectives in hardship situations. 
  • Effectively coordinates actions with other implementing partners

Languages

  • Fluency in English, Nepali is required.
