CA has a longstanding partnership with donors such as European Commission, ECHO, DFID, Irish Aid, USAID etc. for supporting humanitarian responses in South and South-East Asia region, for major emergencies. Christian Aid has contributed significantly to the regional resilience and humanitarian actions working closely with other institutions of excellence.

Compensation: NPR 6,41,677 to NPR 7,10,129 & competitive benefits package as per organization policy

Contract Status: Fixed term (1 year) with possible extension

About the role

Natural disasters devastate lives; all too often it’s the lives of the world’s poorest people. In this role you’ll help us and our partners in Nepal to deliver and ultimately save lives and reduce human suffering. You’ll be part of a dynamic Nepal Earthquake Response team providing support to our humanitarian programme, monitoring and reporting on our porgramme and carrying out general technical support functions.

The role main focus is to support the work of Christian Aid in earthquake response and assist the earthquake response programme team for effective management of partnership portfolio.  Also to provide necessary administration support, coordination, communications with various external clients and internal teams. 

The post-holder will be stationed in Kathmandu, Nepal with frequent travel to programme areas. Though primarily assigned to the location designated, the role may be called up to cover and support other locations as the need arises[1]

About you

We are seeking a candidate with relevant experience in providing programmatic and administrative support. The successful applicant should be able to speak and write English fluently and have experience working in emergency and/or development contexts in Nepal. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of development sector, effective communication skills, data analysis, documentation and admin support expertise.  You will need a good understanding of financial and administrative systems and be able to deal with complicated budgets, reporting systems and logistics management skills.  You are likely to have worked in the NGO sector, or with an international organisation and have an understanding of HAP (Humanitarian Accountability Partnership) and security principles as well as an awareness of the complexity of working in various parts of Nepal. You'll need a good head for figures, be a team player and able to communicate to a range of different audiences both inside and outside the organisation.  Whatever your background you’ll need the skills to interact with a wide cross section of people and organisations both in the UK and Nepal and have a flexible approach to a varying workload.

The role may require occasional travel to meet the demands of the work.
