The Esther Benjamin Memorial Foundation (EBMF) is a non-profit making, non-political and Non-Government Organisation implementing school support and community based projects in Makwanpur District.  It works to prevent child trafficking from vulnerable rural communities across the country. 

 

EBMF invites application from result oriented and highly motivated Nepali candidates who have enough rural community based project experience for the position of Programme Manager. This position is based in EBMF Hetauda Office, Makwanpur District and reports to Country Office in Kathmandu. 

 

Purpose of the position:

The Programme Manager is a key position in EBMF’s Hetauda Office that leads the District Programme team in Makwanpur and manages programme effectively.

Essential qualifications, skills and experiences:

· Experience managing large donor-funded programmes with demonstrated capacity to create and/or maintain complex systems and procedures involving multiple implementation sites, multiple partners, and diverse beneficiaries. 

· Proven leadership and management skills including team building, decision making and financial management.

· Diplomacy and negotiation skills that demonstrate ability to collaborate and co-ordinate with a range of stakeholders and complex priorities.

· Experience in conducting baseline survey, action research and implementation of community based development projects.

· A proven track record in project planning, implementation, monitoring and staff management.

· At least 3 years’ experience in senior position managing community based projects in Nepal.

· Ability to develop concept notes and project proposals with clear understanding of project end plan.

· Excellent communication skills in English and Nepali languages with proven ability to conduct meetings and presentations addressing to a large number of people.

· Post Graduate / Masters in social science or any other related field.

 

 

Desirable qualification, experience and skills:

 

· Sound understanding of rural poverty, community development and child trafficking situation of Nepal.

· Experience in project cycle management and overseeing large multi-donor projects.

· Excellent documentation, data management, report writing and analytical skills.

· Excellent knowledge and ability on resource management, strategic planning and coordination.

· Ability to plan and prioritise duties as well as work competently under pressure and tight deadlines.

· Master’s degree in Project Management or Community Development.

· Willingness to travel to remote villages of Makwanpur District.

· Ability to ride motorbike with a valid driving license.
