Program Officer / Sr. Program Assistant

The program officer is a central level position with frequent travel to the field. The candidate must have a masters degree in public health, social science or relevant discipline with more than one year year / two years experience or bachelors degree with more than four years  / two years experience in community based programs. The applicants must be able to demonstrate their abilities in handling the day to day operations of the program and should have sound knowledge of microsoft office package. The applicant must have good coordination skills and must be efficient in managing workshops and training programs.

Specific Skills Required for this position:

ü  Field experience in implementing community based programs

ü  Experienced in the management and planning of program related activities on a daily basis

ü Must be familiar in the development processes involving forms, formats, guidelines of the program

üExperience in implementing Behavior Change Communication programsExperience in coordination with various departments and other program stakeholders internally and externally  

ü  Previous experience in Report writing and presentation

ü  Excellent analytical expertise, with preparation and documentation of reports, guidelines and manuals

ü  Good understanding on the government health system and processes  

ü  Must have knowledge on designing and implementing community based promotion and interaction activities

ü  Excellent understanding of social mobilization and awareness of community based structures

ü  Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to coordinate between field and central teams.

ü  Previous experience in the monitoring and supervision of field based activities on program implementation
