Social Organization District Coordination Committee Parsa (SODCC Parsa) is reputed organization in District, which especially has been working for the cause of Children and women of Parsa district. It has registered in District Administration office Parsa and Social Welfare Council under the act of his Majesty Government of Nepal in 2053 BS (AD1996). Since its inspection, SODCC Parsa has been collectively working to improve the status of children and Women of Parsa district.

Social Organization District Coordination Committee (SODCC) is a non-profitable, nongovernmental social organization. The organization has its main office in the metropolitan of Birganj which is the focal center of its operations and administrative functions. It has been working and advocating for the holistic development of the VDCs, rural and urban areas. It has been working on the capacity enhance, management, mobilization, leadership development of people and coordinated and cooperated with many donors/INGOs/NGOs for the development of Parsa district. It has been also providing quality basic services and implementing program and working in area of education, Health, Drinking water, Sanitation, Hygiene, good governance, development plan, Peace, human rights and advocacy on poverty alleviation. The executive board and staffs provides the overall direction of the organization has been in regular communication to implement and organize activities and program for the positive change.

SODCC has signed a contract with RTI International for implementing and managing the community mobilization component of the Early Grade Reading Program (EGRP) in Parsa. The overall purpose of the community mobilization of EGRP is to increase family and community support for improvement of early grade reading for children from grades one to three. Parsa will work directly with School, SMC, PTA, Early Grade Reading sub-committee and all relevant community forums in close coordination with Education Development and Coordination Section at district level and municipalities in local for implementing activities related to community mobilization of EGRP in Parsa.

Program Manager (PM) oversees all activities implemented under community mobilization of Early Grade Reading Program to increase family and community support for Early Grade Reading Program in Parsa.  The PM works closely with team to ensure community mobilization of Early Grade Reading Program are effectively managed and implemented in timely manner.

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent in education, development studies/social work, or related field
  • Experience in management roles of donor-funded grants and/or contracts
  • At least 3 years’ experience in leading community mobilization and capacity building of community forums
  • Experience in team leadership, coordination or direct management role
  • Experience in designing and delivering community mobilization forums and activities
  • Experience in early grade reading, primary education and ECD sector is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills in English and Nepali
