Madesh Human Rights Home ( Mahuri Home) Nepal  is going to implement DFID supported Strengthening Access to Holistic, Gender Responsive, and Accountable Justice in Nepal (SAHAJ) project in Kapilvastu, Rupandehi, Nawalparasi, Dhang, Banke, Rolpa and Piuthan districts in the consortium lead of VSO Nepal and International Alert. The project is designed to provide increased learning and understanding of what works to change social norms around Gender Based Violence (GBV) and improve access to justice for the most at-risk women and girls in a politically and administratively evolving context of Nepal. SAHAJ invites application from interested, eligible, and result oriented Nepalese citizens for the following positions who are reliable, accountable and competitive to deliver expected results of the project.

01. Job title: Program Manager

Duty Station: Central Office Kapilvastu

Project            : SAHAJ

No of Position: 1

Key responsibilities:

PM will be responsible to manage, coordinate and lead project interventions at Palika level to ensure outputs are delivered as planned.  S/He will maintain close coordination and linkage with the lead consortium lead and supporting partners - VSO Nepal, International Alert, FWLD, AFN and Emory University. The Program Manager (PM) will be accountable and report directly to Executive Director of MAHURI HOME Nepal. 

S/He will be responsible for overall program, human resources and financial management as well. S/He will be involved in planning, implementation, operation, monitoring and reporting of SAHAJ Project activities/He will be responsible for stakeholder management, rapport building, coordination particularly stakeholder’s external to the organization. S/He will also work in close coordination with VSO, International Alert staff and volunteers based in district office.

Required qualification and experiences:

Master’s degree in social science with at least 5 years’ experience or Bachelor’s degree with 10 years’ experience. Preference will be given in the field of gender and social studies, human rights with at least 5 years’ experience of planning and managing projects in gender equality mainly gender based violence, human rights with multiple stakeholders, and delivering expected benefits in challenging contexts. S/He must have Driving license of two wheeler.

02. Job title: Program Officer

Duty Station: Kapilvastu, Rupandehi, Nawalparasi, Dhang, Banke, Rolpa and Puthan

Project            : SAHAJ

No of Position: 4

Key responsibilities:

Program Officer (PO) will be responsible to ensures quality of activities implementation in the areas of promoting family and school centered approaches and grass root level social accountability and justice approaches and Support Program Manager (PM) in implementing all field level interventions as specified on Outcome 1-4. 

S/He will also be involved in planning, implementation, operation, monitoring and reporting of SAHAJ Project activities. Coordinate and write all types of project reports according to contractual agreement and submit to Program Manager. S/He will also work in close coordination with VSO, International Alert staff and volunteers based in district office.

Required qualification and experiences: 

At least Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science or other relevant field of study with 5 years of project implementation experience. Preference will be given to the one who has experience of working in women’s rights issues, harmful social norms and accessing to security and justice sector and having clear understanding of project cycle management tools to ensure effective planning, resourcing, implementation and review of programmes /projects.S/He must have Driving license of motor bike.

03. Job title: Finance Officer

Duty Station: Central Office Kapilvastu

Project            : SAHAJ

No of Position: 1

Key responsibilities:

The Finance Officer (FO) will be responsible for maintaining the sound financial policies, procedures and financial management. S/He will contribute to the smooth functioning of the accounting operations within organization by: 

  • Maintenance of all payment documents and receipts according to the Donor policies and guidelines
  • Ensure all payments are made according to Donor policies, local law and contractual agreement with donor/s.
  • Ensure PF, RF, Tax & VAT filings are made on time and regular basis
  • S/He will adhere to the organization’s policies and donor guidelines while performing her/his duties. S/He will be responsible for adherence to audit recommendations and correcting audit findings. S/He will have to support Program Manager (PM) in preparing financial reports as per the project requirements. S/He will also work in close coordination with VSO, International Alert staff and volunteers based in district office.

Required qualification and experiences:

Bachelor degree in Management or equivalent degree in relevant experience with at least 5 year of experience in similar capacity. Knowledge and skills on an accounting (FAMAS) software and having experience of working with development organizations and/or international volunteers S/He must have Driving license of motor bike.
