Established in 1990, Banke UNESCO Club is a non-government organization and registered under the District Administration Office, Banke and affiliated to Social Welfare Council, Kathmandu, The establishment of the organization has been inspired by the ideals of non-violence, social justice, self-reliance, sustainable development and volunteerism. The organization is dedicated to the ideals of holistic and integrated development based on a harmonious balance of socio-culture, material, scientific environmental aspects and increase in literacy rate of Disadvantaged, Marginalized, Deprived, and other Poorest of Poorer groups (POP) including women and child by providing quality education.

Banke UNESCO Club has signed a contract with RTI International for implementing and managing the community mobilization component of the Early Grade Reading Program (EGRP) in Bardiya district. The overall purpose of the community mobilization of EGRP is to increase family and community support for improvement of early grade reading for children from grades one to three. Banke UNESCO Club will work directly with School, SMC, PTA, Early Grade Reading sub-committee and all relevant community forums in close coordination with Education Development and Coordination Section at district level and municipalities in local for implementing activities related to community mobilization of EGRP in Bardiya District.

Program Manager

Program Manager (PM) oversees all activities implemented under community mobilization of Early Grade Reading Program to increase family and community support for Early Grade Reading Program Bardiya district. The PM works closely with team to ensure community mobilization of Early Grade Reading Program are effectively managed and implemented in timely manner.

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent in education, development studies/social work, or related field
  • Experience in management roles of donor-funded grants and/or contracts
  • At least 3 years’ experience in leading community mobilization and capacity building of community forums
  • Experience in team leadership, coordination or direct management role
  • Experience in designing and delivering community mobilization forums and activities
  • Experience in early grade reading, primary education and ECD sectoris preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills in English and Nepali

Monitoring, Evaluation and Documentation Coordinator

Monitoring, Evaluation and Documentation Coordinator (MEDC) is responsible to implement the monitoring and evaluation framework of community mobilization activities and produce and organize project related document reports, fact sheets, etc of community mobilization of Early Grade Reading Program (EGRP) to increase family and community support for Early Grade Reading project in Bardiya district.

  • Bachelor’sdegree in education, social work, or related field
  • Experience in designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation framework
  • At least 3 years’ experience in designing platform, recording progress, producing documentation/reports and monitoring and evaluation.
  • Experience in team leadership and coordination.
  • Experience in research, database management is preferred.
  • Strong IT background, specially advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, SPSS and other database platform
  • Strong  oral and written communication and report writing skills in English and Nepali

Finance Coordinator

Finance Coordinator (FC) is responsible for recording and reporting financial transaction with ensuring compliance with donor rules, regulation according to Nepal Government Laws and Organizational Policies related to activities implemented under community mobilization of Early Grade Reading Program to increase family and community support for Early Grade Reading Program Bardiya district in  Nepal

  • Bachelor’s in Management, Accounts, Business Studies or relevant field such as economics with 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Prior experience in managing USAID funds will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of current government's tax policies and labor laws.
  • Competent incomputer skills Microsoft office specially in the use of MS Excel and any other accounting software
  • Knowledge of accounting, auditing system and financial monitoring system
  • Oral fluency in English and Nepali language for communication and also report writing skill in English is a must.

Community Mobilization Officer (CMO)

Community Mobilization Officer (CMO) is responsible to implement community mobilization activities of community mobilization of Early Grade Reading Program (EGRP) to increase family and community support for Early Grade Reading under the technical guidance of Program Manager in Bardiya district.

  • Bachelor’sdegree or equivalent in education, social work, or related field
  • Experience in community mobilization work: dealing with community forum and people
  • At least 1 year experience in implementation and providing technical inputs on community mobilization and strengthening capacities of community forum.
  • Experience in conducting training for community forums
  • Experience in early grade reading, primary education and ECD sector is preferred
  • Competent in computer skills,especially Microsoft Office Package
  • Oral fluency in Nepali and local language for communication (relevant RC)
  • Reporting skills in Nepali isa must
  • Preference will be given to local resident of relevant resource center, familiar with the local culture and language.
