Details / requirements:

TERM & LOCATION: Long Term position based in Kathmandu with field visits on  need basis

TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT: Full Time Contractual

PURPOSE: To support the development and implementation of assigned projects of APEIRON

JOB DESCRIPTION  

  • Program Implementation
  • Develop plans to assign a timeline for project goals, objectives, and milestones.
  • Develop and control deadlines, budgets and activities.
  • Hold meetings with project team to disseminate updates, or changes to the plan.
  • Decide on suitable project strategies and objectives.
  • Communicate information from head office to team members to ensure projects are delivered in a timely manner and within budget.
  • Review work submitted by team members.
  • Address any issues that may hinder project progress.
  • Work with project team to evaluate final deliverables before submission to the head office.
  • Probe beneficiaries for other opportunities.
  • Develop comprehensive project reports.
  • Facilitate post project meetings to establish project takeaways.
  • Lead the project team members and assess their performance during and after projects.
  • Maintain good relationship with the government line agencies, community and other stakeholders involved.
  • Able to coordinate cross-project activities.

Coordination

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners, and stakeholders to advocate and promote organizational and program issues
  • Represent at meetings, conferences and networking events with funding agencies, projects partners, Government of Nepal, and other inetersted parties, as required and other stakeholders as and when necessary
  • Organize regular meetings with program staffs, finance and administration team

Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Monitor and support in the implementation of project to enhance field staff capacity, ensure the quality of program and coordination with national level stakeholders as well as to support team for the effective management of program, finance and administration.
  • Ensure all planned activities in each program are implemented in line with expected results and provide support for improvement as necessary through conducting and managing periodic review
  • Communicate the project related information regularly with donor (if require), Executive Director, Advisor, Finance Director, external stakeholders as and when required.

Documentation and Reporting 

  • Finalize and submit narrative report to donors and oversee finance reports before submission to funding partners
  • Develop a performance monitoring framework to measure progress, effectiveness, efficiency and achievement of the expected results, specifying qualitative and quantitative indicators, data sources, and data collection methods.
  • Monitoring and document the progress of the program activities against agreed indicators, and collect accurate and timely data of the program activities
  • Design, conduct and document researches, studies and evaluations as per project needs to contribute in understanding of the impact of the program
  • Document and disseminate lessons learnt and findings from the programs and projects
  • Ensure maintenance of both qualitative and quantitative data
  • Timely preparation of good quality project reports/reports of the program activities as required and as per schedule for internal use, donors and beneficiaries.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work/Development Studies or related disciplines from a recognized university

Experience  

  • Master’s Degree in Social work/Development Studies with minimum 3 years of extensive experience in related field or Bachelors Degree in Social Work/Development Studies with minimum 5 years of extensive experience in related field

Skills

  • Excellent in managing projects in the livelihood projects.
  • Ability to understand and improve upon projects requirements.
  • Ability to hold team members accountable for goals, and take responsibility for the work.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate, and organize an interdisciplinary team.
  • Thorough understanding of project management techniques and methods.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English language.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office package.
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational skills.
  • Problem solving and decision making
  • Sound report writing skills.
  • Good communicator and facilitator
