Action Nepal is seeking candidates who demonstrates developed communication and influencing skills, excellent knowledge of area of work and increasingly contribute to team planning, proactively assumes more responsibility and/or more difficult areas of work in agreement with manager.

Action Nepal partnership with OXFAM is seeking dynamic energetic and result oriented professionals for the following positions to intervene WaSH, SHELTER, EFSVL,DRR and GENDER Project in 2 VDCs (Satyadevi and Tripureswor) of Dhading district.

Program Associate: Emergency Food Security and vulnerable livelihood (EFSVL)  

Duration :6 months (renweable)

Job Location: Dhadingbensi with regular field to programme VDCs

Report To: livelihood Officer

Educational Qualification: Bachelor in Agricultural 

PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION/ KEY RESPONSIBILITY 

  • Conduct community consultation meeting for program orientation in close coordination with concerned local and VDCs level stakeholders
  • Prepare EFSVL monthly Plan and program report and necessary documents.
  • Support and guide EFSVL field staffs for activities implementation in the communities
  • Prioritize most vulnerable and marginalized community for the program targeting and beneficiary selection.
  • Make proper and necessary arrangements for organizing trainings, distributions and donor field visits.
  • Presentation of program updates to Oxfam and other key stakeholders.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by Oxfam team as per the program need
  • Conduct Market price monitoring and other Post distribution monitoring as well as long term monitoring
  • Work in close Coordination with livelihood officer.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:  

Professional skills and qualification needed in the position 

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, sociology, development studies or in relevant field.
  • 1 year experience in livelihood programs.  having some background in humanitarian works will be valued. 
  • Data collection, analysis, interpretation skills.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) in english and nepali.
  • Excellent computer operating skills preferably in MS-word, excel and PowerPoint.
  • Commitment to humanitarian principles and action;

Personal qualifications needed in the position

  • Committed to rights based and gender sensitive work, committed and with strong social mobilization skills and sanitation and hygiene knowledge 
  • Commitment to basic workplace values and policies 
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Drive to achieve results within given deadline.
  • Demonstrated prioritization skills.
  • Able to manage conflicts in the community and motivate staffs under him/her.
  • Excellent computer operating skills preferably in ms-word, excel and PowerPoint.
  • Data collection, analysis, interpretation and data management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Nepali including demonstrable ability to work with others and as part of a team;
  • Knowledge and skills in computer usage including word, excel, power point, and social media;
