Private Sector Advisor

Cardno Emerging Markets USA, Ltd. (Cardno) is seeking a Private Sector Advisor candidate for an anticipated USAID-funded Health Systems Strengthening Project in Nepal. This project aims to increase access to and utilization of equitable health services, improve quality of health services, and improve health system governance. The project will focus on improving health outcomes, particularly for the most marginalized and disadvantaged groups, by increasing access and utilization of equitable, accountable and quality maternal, child and reproductive health services, with specific focus on newborn care.

Duties:

The Private Sector Advisor will be responsible for engaging with the private sector across all of the above objectives, and improving quality of private health services. The Private Sector Advisor will focus on 1) generating and utilizing evidence to consistently support the delivery of high-quality evidence and related products that are scalable; and 2) providing implementation support in the context of knowledge management and dissemination. S/he will support the Chief of Party by playing a lead role in providing strategic vision and technical expertise in improving quality of private health services, and mobilizing strategic partnerships with other stakeholders. 

Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in public health, medicine, social development, business administration or relevant field
• 10+ years of experience providing technical assistance on donor funded projects of similar size and complexity, preferably in Nepal and/or South Asia region
• In depth knowledge of the private sector and public-private sector partnerships for health 
• Demonstrated capacity to mobilize and engage with private sector stakeholders
• Experience generating and utilizing data, in collaboration with private health providers
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and supervisory skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; professional Fluency in English
• Nepali nationals are strongly encouraged to apply
