The International Organization for Migration is seeking qualified Nepali Nationals for the following positions based in Chautara, Sindhupalchowk.

Vacancy Notice No: VN#NP/113/15

Position Title: Physiotherapist - 2 positions

Classification: SAI, 6 months with possibility of extension, ungraded (equivalent to Grade – 3)

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide quality physiotherapy assessments and treatments as per the Facility’s protocols 
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, including doctors, nurses and social workers, to provide holistic rehabilitation services to patients and caregivers
  • Assess patients and develop individual treatment and care plans to meet their rehabilitation needs under supervision of senior physiotherapist 
  • Facilitate referrals of patients to the district hospital and coordinate with hospital staff regarding patient’s needs 
  • Coordinate and attend regular interdisciplinary meeting to discuss patient progress and adapt treatment and care plans accordingly
  • Develop home-based care plans for each patient before discharge and teach both patient and caregiver to carry out exercises at home
  • Contribute to the development of physiotherapy treatment protocols and assist in the training of new staff and/or partners 
  • Conduct community outreach physiotherapy care as required
  • Conduct physical exercise sessions with caretakers and facility staff on a regular basis 
  • Write case notes, reports and data entry
  • Other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Bachelor in Physiotherapy from recognised university and registered in respective council
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional/practical experience in rehabilitation sector 
  • The ability to build rapport with patients from a variety of backgrounds and communicate effectively with their relatives and caregivers 
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem solving skills 
  • Excellent communication skills (working knowledge of English required)
