Medecins du Monde is an international humanitarian organization that provides emergency and longterm medical care to vulnerable populations while fighting for equal access to healthcare worldwide. MDM has been working in Nepal since 1995 and is currently implementing a project in Sindhupalchowk District that aims at providing relief to populations affected by the earthquake.

Job Title: Pharmacy Assistant

SCOPE OF THE ROLE: Under the supervision of the Pharmacist he/she is in charge of managing the pharmacy of the mission.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide utmost support in preparing the necessary essential drugs, medical supplies and consumables for the PHC Medical Teams and the SRH Medical Team.
• Work with the pharmacist to ensure quality stock management of the MdM Pharmacy Warehouse, including management of drugs and medical supplies that are for donations.
• Work with the pharmacist to provide a monthly physical inventory of the stocks present at the Pharmacy Warehouse and a regular drug stocks- monitoring tool.

TASK DESCRIPTION:

• Follow-up and management the drugs, medical supplies and consumables stock with specifictools providing by the Pharmacist and ensure that things coming in and out of the pharmacy warehouse are registered and accounted through stock cards and other tools that are necessary.
• Conduct monthly physical inventories inside the pharmacy warehouse and keeping the pharmacy records always updated.
• Receive the weekly request orders of the drugs and medical supplies needed by the PHC and SRH Medical teams, prepare it according to it and make it available to them on a timely basis.
• Ensure that all items are well organized and correctly stored, well protected, fully identified and easily accessible (cleanliness, security, access, etc.).

OTHERS:

• To maintain good socio-professional relationships with colleagues at MdM.
• Be flexible in performing his/her duties
• Perform other additional duties on request of the medical supervisor and medical coordinator.

QUALIFICATION:

• Diploma in Pharmacy
• At least 1 year of experience of pharmacy stock management, either in hospital or in PHC Clinics.
• Able work as team player and has flexibility in his/her work
• Computer literacy, particularly with Excel and Word
• Experience working in humanitarian emergency settings is an asset
• Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
