Details / requirements:

FHI 360, an international NGO, is currently recruiting highly qualified and dynamic Nepali citizen for the five year Nutrition Project in Nepal for the following positions to join its team: 

Nutrition Assessment, Counseling and Support (NACS) Advisor  

The NACS Advisor will lead all activities that FHI 360 will be required to carry out for Nutrition Project and ensure quality of the guidelines and materials developed and support while rolling out the training. S/he will liaise closely with the prime, represent FHI 360 in all planning meetings and ensure timely implementation of the project activities on behalf of FHI 360.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall design and implementation of improving NACS services. 
  • Lead the development of NACS protocols, training curriculum and counseling materials, job aids, and M&E tools.
  • Lead the development supportive supervision, quality improvement and referral systems for facility-based providers. 
  • Spearhead all stakeholder consultations including setting performance standards related to NACS for Nutrition Project.  
  • Ensure NACS related technical support is always aligned with other key nutritional efforts at the national and district levels. Work closely with Ministry of Health (MoH), Child Health Division, district level government authorities, Nutrition Project core partners and district level NGO partners. 
  • Conceptualize and support the roll out of MToT on NACS. 
  • Manage NACS related local consultants and ensure timely delivery. 
  • Complete all reports and meeting minutes in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Liaise with FHI 360 Headquarter nutrition and NACS experts to ensure timely high quality inputs.
  • Represent FHI 360 in external functions as needed at the national, regional and district level.
  • Contribute to the preparation of program reports, monthly updates and other necessary documents.

Minimum Requirements 

  • Master’s in public health, social science or related field.
  • Minimum five years of progressing experience in managing and/or implementing public health related activities. Relevant experience in managing nutrition related project will be an asset. 
  • Experience in managing/working with international agencies, USAID-funded program or with UN organizations.
  • Sound understanding of the national nutrition program components and implementation requirements.
  • Ability to work in teams and create collaborative team building environment. 
  • Strong negotiation, coordination, communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Resourceful in resolving problems and initiating solutions. 

Project Specialist - NACS

The Project Specialist supports NACS Advisor in the design and implementation of improving NACS services and to ensure that all NACS related work are completed on time and are of high quality. S/he will be closely involved to complete all major activities both providing technical inputs and timely follow-up. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out development of NACS protocols, training curriculum and counseling materials, job aids, and M&E tools.
  • Develop supportive supervision, quality improvement and referral systems for facility-based providers. 
  • Support NACS Advisor to carry out all stakeholder consultations including setting performance standards related to NACS for Suaahara.  
  • Liaise with Nutrition Project to adequately coordinate all technical assistance for NACS. 
  • Work closely with MoH, Child Health Division, district level government authorities, Nutrition Project partners and district level NGO partners. 
  • Carry out the development and roll out of MToT on NACS. 
  • Support NACS Advisor to manage mobilize and manage NACS related local consultants. 
  • Support the completion of all reports and meeting minutes in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Work with NACS Advisor to help liaise with FHI 360 Headquarter nutrition and NACS experts and ensure timely high quality inputs.
  • When designated by NACS Advisor, represent FHI 360 in external functions at the national, regional and district level.
  • Prepare of program reports, monthly updates and other necessary documents.
  • Contribute to the development of Country Office annual work plans and program designs. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by NACS Advisor.

Minimum Requirements 

  • Master’s in public health, social science or related field with minimum three years of progressing experience or Bachelor’s degree in public health, social science or related field with five years of progressing experience in managing and/or implementing public health related activities.
  • Relevant experience in managing nutrition related project will be an asset. 
  • Experience in managing/working with international agencies, USAID-funded program or with UN organizations.
  • Sound understanding of the national nutrition program components and implementation requirements.
  • Ability to work in teams and create collaborative team building environment. 
  • Strong negotiation, coordination, communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and work under pressure.
