We are a women led Nepali NGO working for a gender equal society through four main areas of  interventions; Gender Based Violence Prevention and Response, Awareness and Education, Income Generation and Institutional Collaboration. It started out as an international NGO with the headquarters in Italy on 2004 and evolved into a national NGO in 2013.

We fight against prejudice, violence, and inequalities so that women   develop skills necessary to    support   themselves and their families. We help women confront uphill battles: gender based violence,    restricted access to and control over resources, low literacy, struggles to obtain citizenship documents, and other social and   economic challenges.

Among one of our project, a Shelter Home for GBV survivors which has been running since last decade and providing services like income generating skills, medical service, legal services, psychosocial counseling along with food, clothing and shelter is looking for full time nurse.

1. Nurse – Shelter Home

PURPOSE: Purpose of this position is to fulfill the healthcare requirement of the Shelter Home

TERM & LOCATION: Long Term position based in Kathmandu for Shelter Home

TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT: Full Time - Contractual, 6 days a week

DUTY STATION: Arubari, Kathmandu

SALARY: As per organization policy

JOB SPECIFICATION

  • Must have completed PCL in Nursing or Must be Registered Staff Nurse
  • Must be registered in Nursing Council of Nepal
  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in related field
  • Should have knowledge of First Aid Treatments
  • Must have good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Must be able to address emergency services as and when required
  • Must have good moral and ethical background

JOB DESCRIPTION

  1. Perform daily basis nursing services
  2. Perform daily basis first aid services
  3. Should be focal person to give first response to new case in the shelter home
  4. Should conduct health awareness session on weekly basis
  5. Should take beneficiary to hospital as and when required and perform all the task related
  6. Should fill medical forms and maintain medical record of beneficiaries
  7. Participate in meeting with beneficiary in medical issues
  8. Provide First Aid Training to staff of Shelter Home
  9. Orient staff and beneficiaries about new health issues and its preventive measures
  10. Research about new health practices and share with staffs of  Shelter Home
  11. Ensure that medicines are taken by beneficiary on time
  12. Should be present in office in any emergency case and upon the request by staff members of shelter home
  13. Should look for medical services that are facilitated by government or other organization that are free of cost
  14. Should recommend to participate in health camps (HIV, Family Planning etc)
  15. Should ensure hygiene maintenance of the beneficiaries and teach ECD Teacher, beneficiary on how to maintain basic hygiene
  16. Make basic medication prescription and suggest to visit hospital
  17. Any other medical and nursing related services as and when required in Shelter home
