CAMRIS seeks a qualified Travel and Logistics Coordinator for the current USAID/Nepal Monitoring and Evaluation and Learning (MEL) project. The MEL Project supports achievement of USAID/Nepal’s Country Development Cooperation Strategy development objectives by assisting the Mission in planning, designing, conducting, disseminating and learning from more rigorous monitoring and evaluation of development activities. This includes designing and implementing both quantitative and qualitative evaluations and assessments, as well as providing expert analysis and technical assistance to USAID/Nepal’s programs.

NOTE: This position is contingent on approval of the position by USAID/Nepal.

The MEL project has three major components:

  • Component 1: Support greater rigor and coherence in USAID/Nepal’s M&E efforts
  • Component 2: Design and conduct analyses, evaluations, surveys, studies, and assessments
  • Component 3: Support improved knowledge management within the Mission

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate and ticket all local flights, transportation and lodging required for fieldwork;
  • Liaise with international travelers and local hotels to book consultant’s lodging in Kathmandu;
  • Provide international travelers with welcome packet, hotel pickup and drop off, work space in Nepal MEL office, and information on visas, among others;
  • Answer consultant’s travel-related questions;
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors for lodging, transportation, food and meeting space;
  • Research and stay up-to-date with developments that can impact fieldwork including, but not limited to weather, bandhs and conflict;
  • Support the maintenance and monitoring of operational procedures (human resources, petty cash fund, equipment/supply requisition);
  • Coordinate and validate monthly reporting requirements in collaboration with Finance Officer/Accountant;
  • Support the preparation of consultant invoices and payments;
  • Maintain project records and files on Dropbox and hard copy, as relevant;
  • Maintain project calendars including dates of field work and international travel;
  • Coordinate conferences and meetings;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as business, finance, international development, international affairs, political science, mathematics, etc.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in logistics and administration in Nepal arranging travel, transportation and lodging for domestic and international travelers. Experience on USAID projects is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated research skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and excellent organization skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with vendors such as hotels and transportation companies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Fluency in English and Nepali is required.
