Digital Broadcast Initiative Equal Access (DBI EA) is a nonprofit, non-government organization established in February 2004 in Nepal with a goal to create positive change by providing critical information using Communication for Development (C4D) approaches. DBI EA aims to accomplish this goal by using the media, state of the art information and communication technology (ICT), effective partnerships and local community engagement. Since its inception in 2004, DBI-EA has implemented projects on an array of thematic areas including media development, health, agriculture and livelihood, human rights and transitional justice, good governance, primary education and early childhood development, gender issues, adolescent issues, and local development among others. DBI-EA creates customized communication and outreach solutions to address the critical issues across Nepal. This is accomplished through close partnerships with community radios and local media, which ensures greater local ownership, impact and sustainability. The communication component includes designing, producing compelling multilingual audio and multimedia content and broadcasting through national and local FM networks. Outreach activities include a wide range of activities like training, orientation, local partnerships, local content, Radio Discussion Groups (RDGs), public hearing, discussion forum, and edutainment fair. All activities are guided by DBI EA’s experiences in Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC).

Equal Access is seeking application from dynamic, creative and competent candidate for Monitoring & Evaluation Associate position:

Key Responsibilities

  • Toaccess Interactive Voice Response (IVR) and SMS data on the project specific platform. This includes transcribingand translating of the voice message;
  • Organize the data emerging from the IVR/SMS platform in an easy-to-manage database system and present the report on the same for further analysis and reporting;
  • Preliminary organization of data from various sources and partners, preliminary analysis and reporting, as necessary;
  • Updating the project specific database systems.
  • To provide moderation support to the project specific web portal such as Meroreport – this includes regular check-in to ensure that user queries are responded to in a timely fashion, new content is moderated for quality, relevance and appropriateness, and maintain a log book to record MeroReport content by type (print, audio, photograph, visual etc.) and thematic area (democracy & governance, agriculture, health etc.)
  • Be responsible for entering IVR and Mero report data in the data base system in close coordination with content production team, M&E and ICT teams.
  • Conduct follow-up activities to augment the data received from IVR/SMS platform
  • Support in transcription and translation works related to the project;
  • Undertake field travel to the project districts if necessary.

The associate may be expected to undertake other tasks related to the above scope of work, even if not specifically outlined above.

Qualification, skills and experience required:

  • Candidate must have at least a bachelor’sdegree in relevant subject.
  • Ability with data analysis or statistical analysis software is an asset.
  • Good knowledge in report writing with proper documentation skills is also a requirement.
  • Ability to handle the given responsibilities independently, with minimum supervision.
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
