An International NGO working with disadvantaged communities and vulnerable population seeks highly motivated and qualified candidate for Kathmandu based position with frequent (30%) field visits.

Position: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will be responsible to develop and maintain effective M&E system for ongoing program along with capacity building of partners in monitoring and evaluation. S/he will be responsible to manage Action Research with stakeholders; manage data; analyze qualitative and quantitative data; prepare reports and other project documentation.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum Bachelors Degree with at least four years experience in relevant field, or Masters Degree in social science with at least two years of work experience in the same field.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Develop systematic and realistic monitoring plans that capture quantitative and qualitative data to report on project performance indicators.
  • Define and implement key project performance indicators and monitor them throughout the project duration.
  • Develop M&E tools in line with M&E initiatives to be used throughout the program
  • Responsible for data entry, database maintenance, coordination with other staff for preparing periodic reports as per project requirement.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of quality data, compile and prepare quarterly and annual reports and submit it to supervisor.
  • Be able to provide the required data as and when required.
  • Assist Project Coordinator in proposing strategies to increase data use and demand amongst program staff.
  • Support project/program staff on ways to properly document, organize and capture program progress through case studies, success stories and good practices.
  • Perform regular field visit (30%) to review the implementation of M&E standards and provide technical backstopping for implementing partners to strengthen M&E capacity. 
  • Actively participate in designing and implementing various ongoing studies and research within the program.
  • Develop terms of references and concept notes and deal independently with consultants to ensure implementation of proposed activities as per M&E requirements
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

OTHER SKILLS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Nepali language
  • Excellent computer proficiency (Ms office) and working knowledge on statistical packages (SPSS, Ms Access)
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize and be able to take own initiative, proactive and independent.
  • Demonstrated ability to train and build capacity of implementing partners.
