Nepal Youth Foundation Nepal (NYF-Nepal) is a non-profit organization working for the rights and welfare of the, underprivileged children and youth of Nepal through educational, health and other humanitarian projects. NYF-Nepal is seeking an experienced and self- motivated candidate in the position of “Manager- Development & Fund Raising” This position is based at NYF-N central office, located in Bhanimandal, Lalitpur with travel with requirements inside/outside KTM Valley as needed for fund raising and promotion of service activities.

Reports To: Executive Director

Purpose of the post

To plan and execute fund raising activities and be responsible for fund raising targets; organize and manage promotional/fund raising events; establish and maintain network/relations with concerned stakeholders that directly contribute to raising funds and promotion of NYF’s services; generate reports as required for government agencies, donors and other concerned stakeholders. Prepare all documents as per organizational policy and as per governance requirements of regulatory bodies.

Major duties and responsibilities

Fund Raising

  • Identify new potential funding markets, develop concept notes and proposals, design practical marketing strategies and strengthen public relations and networking with donors and development partners.
  • Prepare the proper contact list of the donors along with nature of the donation of every potential donors and create reports, proposal and approach to them as appropriate
  • Seek avenues for sourcing funds from Local government/authorities under various policies/programs as planned/provisioned by the government.
  • Seek avenues for sourcing funds from Corporate/business organizations (whether public or private enterprise) encouraging them to contribute for CSR activities.
  • Prepare marketing, publication plans and strategy including budget and progress report.
  • Develop and distribute promotional materials of various projects and prepare proposals, letters, brochures etc. for the purpose of fund raising 
  • Create a periodic plan of action to meet the fund raising targets and work accordingly liaising with organizational stake holders, various government as well as non-government agencies.
  • While dealing with the partners, donors and other institutions, respect and follow organizational rules and regulations making sure that the policies are fully complied with while carrying out given task.

Networking and Promotion

  • Building networks with other INGOs/NGOs/Associations to seek possibilities for fund partnership concerning services of NYF.
  • Organize various promotional and fund raising events in connection of NYF’s service areas.
  • Liaise with government and non-government, private and public organization that coincide with NYF’s objectives for legal/compliance and promotional purpose.
  • Coordinate and establish functional relationship with potential donors in order to generate financial resources
  • Media management
  • Strengthen organizational profile and communication through visibility and media partnerships.
  • Establish Media relations and mobilize such network for promotion of NYF services and related news, program objectives
  • News and media monitoring concerning service areas of NYF.
  • Monitor media (TV, Newspaper, Radio) in related service matter and proposal submission deadlines for various projects concerning to NYF’s objectives, keep their records and communicate as required.

Others:

  • Communication & Reporting
  • Develop/draft reports as needed for the purpose of local/concerned authorities.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor for the best interest of the organization

Requirements

Education: Master’s Degree with at least 5 years of relevant work experience

Experience: Proven experience in fundraising, concept notes and proposal development.

Knowledge: Knowledgeable on funding market, current trends, donor priorities and procedures. Well acquainted with the project presentation skills/tools and other knowledge  administrative affairs and events management.

Skills & Abilities: Excellent writing and communication skills, strategic thinking and good interpersonal skills, knowledgeable on result based project cycle management, different thematic areas of NYF.Sound communication & interpersonal skills, able to work under pressure, agreeable & adaptive to changes, self-motivated; able to effectively work on computer (Windows-based applications).

Language: Bilingual, English and Nepali.

Key working relationship:

Internal: Executive Director, Project Managers, Coordinators, project staffs, Counselors, Finance and Admin department, and other NYF family members.

External: Partner organizations, donor agencies, relevant government authorities, and other relevant stakeholders.
