KCDC is now implementing the 'Humanitarian Assistance to People Affected by Earthquake' project in the VDCs of Nuwakot district in partnership of Oxfam GB. Kakani Center for Development of Community - KCDC is a Community Based, relief, development and advocacy, Non-Governmental Organization, non-profit, non-political and Voluntary Service Organization (VSO) and it was created in 1993. Their entire staffs is mobilized daily to cover the basic needs of poor vulnerable children, women, marginalized or excluded by  the effects of natural disasters, wars and situations of economic collapse, poverty and injustice. KCDC is based in Bidur Chowk, operates in the areas of child development, women's empowerment, food security, health, nutrition, rehabilitation of infrastructure, shelter, water and sanitation (WASH) and economic recovery, education, elimination of child labor, safe migration, stop human trafficking, Fighting against CSEC and Recovery of Livelihood. With strong complementary technical expertise in the humanitarian field, international partner and KCDC and their common goal to provide a comprehensive response to emergency, health and nutrition, WASH, livelihood, awareness, school buildings construction, library erection, agro-forestry, child and women's empowerment, capacity building in Poor and Vulnerable Community in Nuwakot District by implementing different Program activities.

KCDC in partnership with Oxfam is implementing the Earthquake Recovery and Reconstruction Project in different VDCs of Nuwakot. KCDC is seeking to fill the following positions inviting applications from interested and highly motivated candidates.

Position: Logistic Officer

Required No. 1

Duration& Location: Fixed term till March 2018 base in Bidur and field in Nuwakot

Brief Description

  • Ensure the works regarding rental and lease agreements and contracts Coordinate with the Finance Officer to ensure that payments to vendors are made on-time and without any unnecessary strain, Ensure  the works regarding rental and lease agreements and contracts

  • Establish filing systems/archives according to organization standards in all offices with regards to logistics issues.
  • Manage and execute procurement of goods and services required for the organization following the guiding principles “Best Value for Money, Transparency, Accountability, Equal and Fair competition”
  • Pro-actively work with thematic officer to identify major procurement plan development.
  • Maintain professional management of all suppliers including maintaining good supplier relations and supplier performance review against key performance indicators and framework agreements, regularly updating this information to country office.
  • Make suppliers aware of organisations values and their need to comply as part of agreements.
  • Contribute in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of procurement, purchasing, logistics and distribution directives, rules and guidelines, in order to achieve the most cost- effective processes for the organization. 
  • Ensuring to manage the warehouses, transport as well as the related administrative procedures by ensuring the gender equality, equity and mainstreaming.
  • Day to day updating and keeping of warehouse recording such as stock ledger, warehouse report, waybill, stock report and BIN card etc.
  • Ensure that Organisations Logistics procedures are followed when during all processes related to stock management and those suitable tracking systems are employed and ensure quality control systems are in place.
  • Ensuring the warehouse is organised with clear segregation of stock 
  • Ensuring trucks are unloaded and dispatched in a timely manner, that waybills are completed fully and accurately and that return waybills are received

Eligibility 

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant subject or equivalent from reputable institute with 2 years of experience in logistic Management. 
  • Computer literate in Office package (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power point)
  • Good written and spoken English is essential. 
  • Previous working experience with non-governmental organizations.  
  • Experience in emergency and early recovery program. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relations with multicultural and multi ethnic teams, including working with partner organizations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
