ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

PHASE Nepal is a non for profit NGO established in 2006 by a group of development professionals dedicated to supporting poor communities in remote areas of Nepal. For the last 10 years PHASE Nepal has been implementing Health, Education and Livelihoods improvement programmes in Humla, Bajura, Mugu, Gorkha, Sindhupalchok and Kavrepalanchok districts.  Currently, PHASE Nepal's projects are funded by PHASE Worldwide UK, PHASE Austria, City of Vienna-Austria, NTTI USA, Lindsay Cooper Singapore, Hrothgar Investment Limited Singapore, Global Giving USA, Global Giving UK, Innocent Foundation UK, DFID UK through PHASE Worldwide, BLF UK through PHASE Worldwide and other individuals and organizations from different countries. PHASE Nepal was heavily involved in earthquake relief projects which were funded by DiakonieKatastrophenhilfe (DKH) Germany, Caritas Germany, Caritas Austria, People in Need, UNHCR in addition to regular donors and currently some of these donors are funding various reconstruction projects. Currently PHASE has over 140 staff working for different projects.

Job Title: Livelihood Trainer

Duration: Long term position             

Duty Station: Gorkha  (Kashigaun and Kerauja) 

Report To: Project Manager  

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To conduct different trainings related to livelihood focusing on improved vegetable farming under plastic tunnel, improved dual purpose poultry production, improved cereal and fruit production under livelihood component of the project. S/he must be responsible to identify the targeted participants for vocational skill training and also contribute to conduct project mid-term and end line survey.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • The candidate should have passed Intermediate (ISc.) in Agriculture with minimum 3-5 years of work experience in designing and delivery of farm/off farm based livelihood training. Must have good command in report writing and communication skill, should have fluency in both English and Nepali language. We encourage people to apply only with relevant experiences.

SALARY & BENEFITS: NRS. 36,590 PER MONTH (basic starting salary scale), plus 10% provident fund after three months of probation period, one month’s basic salary as festival bonus after working for a year, food and field allowances as per the organization policy, 5% end of contract bonus if worked for more than two years, plus medical facility and insurance as per organization rules.
