VSO Nepal has been working in Nepal since 1964 to improve the lives of impoverished people in the poorest districts, particularly focusing on vulnerable women and girls and other marginalized groups.VSO Nepal is currently implementing Health, Secure Livelihoods, Youth, Education and Gender programmes along with emergency response projects. 

VSO Nepal is looking for substantially experienced and highly qualified Nepali candidates to apply for the position of Head of People and Operations, country office based national position:  

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a senior member of the Country leadership team, the primary purpose of this role is to lead, develop, and manage the Country Office (CO) people function and Office support operations in line with VSO Nepal strategy. You are to ensure effective operation of the CO people and operational support functions which includes employees and volunteers, ensuring good people management practice, an efficient customer care service, adherence to global and local policies and procedures and in partnership with Programme Management Teams. As part of the Global People Group, you are to report to the Country Director and matrix report to the Regional People Manager (AsiaPacific) to implement the people plan to deliver high performance, change and transformation.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

The applicant should have a minimum of 10 years experience in the Human Resource practice with demonstrable experience at the leadership/management level. Your skills and experience of people/team management is key to success in ensuring the effective and efficient operations of both People and Operational functions in the country office. You must be an effective communicator and have strong relationship building and change management skills in order to add value to the Country Office implementation of the VSO strategy. 

You should be self-organised with ability to manage time and tight schedules, working effectively under pressure. You must be able to work on your own initiative, with a creative approach to problem solving and a strong level of attention to detail.
