Vacancy Announcement The Centre for International Studies and Cooperation (CECI) is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1958 and incorporated in 1968 in Canada. Sahakarya is a CECI Project funded by CIDA whose main goal is to contribute to poverty reduction in the Mid and Far Western regions of Nepal. The Sahakarya Project has been extended up to April 2012. The Project has two components - Linking Sahakarya Experience with LGCDP (local governance and community development project) (up to April 2012) and Agriculture Production and Marketing (up to June 2011). The Project requires the following personnel, who will be based in Dadheldhura with travels to Doti, Surkhet, Dailekh and Jumla Districts. Gender Coordinator Responsibilities: • Ensure Gender and Social inclusion (GESI) objectives of Linking Sahakarya Experience with LGCDP • Review of application of GESI tools and strategies in LGCDP • Support implementation of GESI strategy in achieving inclusion targets • Capacity building of Sahakarya and implementing partner staff on Governance in general and GESI tools and strategies in particular • Documentation of lessons learned, GESI experience and impact on women and disadvantaged groups • Support Sahakarya Agriculture Production and Marketing component in implementing and achieving GESI objectives • Support Sahakarya partners in analyzing, developing and implementing strategies for brining women in marketing Qualification and Experience: • Master Degree in Gender Studies or other relevant sectors; Or Bachelor Degree with additional Diploma in Gender studies • Prior 3 years working experience with INGOs in GESI. • Preference will be given to those having experience of working in Governance, and Agriculture Production and Marketing • Experience of working in Mid and/or Far Western Region will be an added advantage Only Women candidates are eligible to apply for this position.
