The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) is a regional intergovernmental learning and knowledge sharing centre serving the eight regional member countries of the Hindu Kush Himalayan (HKH) region – Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, Nepal, and Pakistan. Mountains are important global ecosystems facing especially rapid socioeconomic and environmental changes, particularly the impacts of climate change. Our aim is to influence policy and practices to meet environmental and livelihood challenges emerging in the HKH region.
To optimize administrative and financial support, ICIMOD has developed a highly advanced and fully automated finance system, which is integrated within the Navision Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Hence to strengthen our Finance Team of highly specialized finance specialists we are seeking to recruit
Finance Assistant
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Finance Officer, and in close collaboration with other staff in the division, the Finance Assistant will be performing the following tasks:
· Assist in the timely filing of vouchers and receipts in chronological order
· Sort vouchers into separate files as needed during special audits of various projects
· Logistic support
· Prepare the list of cheques and issue cheques to vendors, suppliers and staff
· Coordinate with the bank transit teller twice a week
· Process petty bills forwarded from different units
· Perform other related duties as required and as may be requested by the Senior Finance Officer
Minimum Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accountancy, or Commerce

· At least two years of experience in a related field
· Demonstrated computing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
· Good knowledge of computer-based accounting systems – knowledge of Navision or another ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system preferred
· Ability to work smoothly and effectively to work in multicultural team .
· Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
· Proactive approach to ensuring the smooth organization of internal processes.
· Ability to easily adapt to changing contexts, technologies, and approaches.
Duration: Initially for one year, of which the first three months will be probation, with a possibility of extension subject to ICIMOD’s future funding levels.
Remuneration: commensurate with experience and qualification as per ICIMOD rules
