Details / requirements:

The British Council is recruiting for a  Finance and Grant Support Officer to support on financial and grant management activities for the European Union (EU) funded Dakchyata TVET (Technical Vocational Education and Training) PP (Practical Partnership) project for Nepal, granted to the British Council through a delegation agreement for implementation to the value of Euro 14.1 million over four years. 

The specific duties comprise, but are not limited to, the following;

  • Assist in the preparation and consolidation of financial plans, (re)forecasting, cash flow, reporting and analysis for project activities on British Council system. 
  • Assist in procurement of internal and external resources for specific activities and services, ensuring British Council procurement guidelines. 
  • Follow up on timesheets from the consultants and other project staff and keep records.
  • Assist to prepare internal financial reports in British Council system and external financial reports to the Delegation of European Union. 
  • Assist to conduct due diligence assessment of partner grantees, monitor compliance and financial management of grants projects. 
  • Assist in internal audits, client audits and expenditure verification audit. 
  • Update staff details with insurance company and coordinate with staff for their travel accidental insurance and assist in processing medical claims in case of medical insurance. 
  • Prepare the monthly Cash Flow return ensuring funds are available, and withdraw / transferred from the bank. Coordinate payment instruments (Cheque and online banking), and bank reconciliations. Post project related journals. 
  • Process project staff/consultant’s monthly pay roll. 
  • Provide support for project closure and financial reconciliations.  
  • Assist Grants Manager in documentation for grants call for proposals, and coordinate process of call for concept notes and proposal.
