Sunaulo Parivar Nepal (SPN) is a wellâ€established NGO delivering Family Planning and Sexual Reproductive Health services throughâ€out the country via centres, mobile outreach teams to remote areas and social marketing. It works in partnership with Marie Stopes International UK (MSI), a global social business providing reproductive health services across the world with a mission of ensuring individual's fundamental right to have children by choice not chance.

Support for International Health and Family Planning Organizations 2 (SIFPO2) is a cooperative agreement funded by USAID and implemented by Marie Stopes International Nepal/Sunaulo Parivar Nepal in 11 districts of Nepal: Sankhuwasava, Siraha, Rautahat, Chitwan, Dhading, Kaski, Parbat, Myagdi, Syangja, Rupandehi and Darchula from 2015 to 2019

Family Planning Quality Coordinator will lead on-the-job support, clinical audits and incident management of family planning services in government facilities

Job Description:

  • Assist to ensure government providers understand and follow MoH guidelines and MSI protocols and with clear understanding instep of clinical procedure
  • Assist to ensure all government providers are using up-to-date manuals and are fully trained and assessed on any changes
  • Supervise and assist government providers to ensure government facilities are equipped and maintained to provide high-quality client focused service.
  •  Assist to ensure all stock and equipment are used as directed by the protocols
  • Assist to ensure accurate, detailed clinical records are maintained by government providers, including follow-up visits, intake and the efficient management of all complications and complaints including response times
  • Assist in implementing annual plan of internal clinical audits for government facilities
  • Assist to monitor completion of post-audit work plans by government providers
  • Assist to ensure government providers are adequately qualified and trained. Make recommendations for training as necessary
  • Assist to ensure that complication records and training records are kept and major complications are reported to the District Manager.  Participate and provide a detailed analysis of all complications at SPN Medical Advisory Team meetings.
  • Visit clients with complications and refer to referral centre in the case of serious incidence/complication
  • Participate in internal investigation for both minor and serious incidences and document according to MoH and MSI standards. Follow up on recommendations to address any gaps under the guidance of the District Manager and Clinical Services Manager.
  • Travel extensively within the district to carry out clinical supervision visits, QTA and on-the-job training to government providers.
  • Provide technical assistance on clinical family planning services to all levels of clinical staff during visits
  • Assess skills, knowledge and capacity of government providers during visits and plan corrective action with the District Manager, providing on-the-spot training where appropriate
  • Make recommendations for formal training of government providers
  • Assist to provide follow-up supervision and monitoring to  government service providers after training is provided
  • Provide family planning services at government facilities as the need arises.
  • Ensure government providers and facilities are compliant with US Government FP Legislative and Policy compliance

Job Specification:

  • Proficiency Certificate Level in nursing
  • Preferably trained on family planning including Implant and IUCD
  • At least 2 years of experience in designing, implementing and monitoring health related interventions at district level
