ECD Centre Manager

Child Nepal (CN) in partnership with PlaneteEnfants and Developpment (PED) is implementing Better Future for Mother and Children (BFMC) Project in Gongabu area of Kathmandu. The project has three major flagship areas i.e. Gender Equality, ECD and Advocacy.  The project aims to work with mothers working in entertainment sector and their children with an objective to promote gender equality and protection women against exploitation and create a long-term conditions fostering an environment conducive to the development of young children

ECD Centre Manager - 1 Position 

Purpose: The ECD Centre Manager will be responsible to operate day to day activities of the ECD centre, involve in the capacity enhancement of ECD facilitators and closely work with project coordinator to report the activities of the centre. 

Term and Location: Fixed term employment till March 2018 based in Kathmandu with the possibility of extension.

Required Qualifications and Experiences:

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Science/Education, preferably in child development
• At least three year experience in managing the ECD centre for the deprived children.
• Experience in project planning, operation, management, reporting and monitoring

Key Responsibilities:

• Design the ECD centre operation plan, ensure the quality of curriculum and its effective implementation in the ECD centre.
• Support in preparing daily plan of ECD facilitators.
• Observe and Monitor the daily activities of the centre like facilitators’ daily plan, children’s attendance, management of food for children, cleanliness of centre,  counselling and health check-up services
• Facilitate the ECD facilitators in developing the tools and methods that help in overall development of children coming in the ECD
• Ensure that children coming in the ECD are happy and learning in a child friendly environment
• Prepare the daily reporting system of the ECD centre and report to Program Coordinator
• Be in frequent communication with program coordinator and update any challenges or problems faced in the ECD centre
• Be in communication of ECD Consultant of PED and take necessary technical support and feedback related to ECD
• Facilitate sessions on ECD to the mothers of children coming in the centre and motivate them to send their children regularly
• Keep the daily record of children’s attendance and follow-up in the family of absent children through outreach officer and social workers.
• Prepare the daily report of the ECD centre and submit to project coordinator
